We loved toastique. The food was great and it did not feel like a chain restaurant. It was the perfect way to start our trip in Washington DC. The Avocado toast was very fresh. I would be back for sure. The atmosphere was also very quiet.

I’ve been to this location multiple times now. The food is consistently great. But the entire staff is consistently terrible, unfriendly with a consistently miserable disposition. To add to the context, they speak significantly more amongst themselves than with customers as I’ve observed them while waiting for my food. They barely acknowledge customers when they walk in. To the company’s credit, the food is consistently good. If I were the owner or manager, I would fire the entire staff.

The wait to order and then get my food was a bit long, but worth it. The salmon toast was fantastic! Very well put together, too. A feast for the eyes. The cappuccino was decent enough, but not the greatest. Significantly better than some others I’ve had in the area. Fellow coffee snobs, it’s hard to find a great, correctly made cappuccino in Alexandria.
Monday of this week, we dropped into Toastique on King Street for a quick bite, and the gourmet toasts and smoothies were genuinely tasty, fresh with vibrant ingredients. They were gorgeously presented and just what we needed on a busy day. I loved the smoked salmon toast (perfectly crisp bread and clean flavors) and the Avocado Smash was spot-on with creamy avocado, radish, chili oil, and microgreens. Unfortunately, the person behind the counter was just so unfriendly and made us and others feel unwelcomewhich really dampened the experience. While the food earns solid praise, the service left us hesitant to return. Five stars for the food, but the attitude definitely held it back.

Very Disappointed with the Service. As a regular customer, I’m truly disappointed with my recent experience at Toastique. The service has taken a serious dip. The person who took my order was rude and unwelcoming—definitely not the kind of attitude you'd expect when you're spending your time and money somewhere you’ve supported regularly.
I ordered a hot mocha and ended up waiting 30 minutes, only to receive a cold one. After such a long wait, getting the wrong order is incredibly frustrating. This shows a real lack of attention and care, especially since I clearly asked for a hot drink.
It’s also not the first time I've noticed how rushed and inattentive the staff can be when taking orders. It’s really disappointing to see that customer service seems to be going downhill. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, because I’d love to continue supporting Toastique—but not if this is the new standard.
