The ambiance was nice, as were the staff. However, there was nothing special about the menu. The food was fine, but not exceptional. The menu was basically generic. I wouldn't naturally think of going back but I'd certainly join some friends who were dining there.
Virtue remains one of my very favorite places to go here in Alexandria. The level of food quality, ambiance, and service are always consistently excellent. The upstairs bar is fantastic, and the window tables are a must. The espresso martinis are the best in town, and the vodka pasta is stellar. I have never had anything there I didn't like. You can't beat the location, and the building is absolutely beautiful inside and out. The only suggestion I have is just adding...
The food was very good and the restaurant is inviting but service was not great. Host put us in a bad seat even though restaurant was empty. He loved us when we asked. Waitress was grumpy and replied rudely to my dining partner.
