Flavor was redundant, but you definitely get what you pay for. The crab cakes were the best thing on the menu and we loved how it was actually a crab cake! A lot of places call a piece of fried bread with some crab meat ij it a crab cake, but not Vola's, they are the real deal! Matisse was our waitress and she was great!
I’ve been here twice now and each time it was because we wanted a waterfront view and this is one of the few places that had that. However, both times we waited at least 10 minutes for a server to bring water. The first time, it was 20 minutes because our server had forgotten we were in their section. No big deal but multiple servers walked by during that time, multiple times, and not one of them checked on us to see if we had been helped. This time wasn’t that bad but still...

This was our first time visiting Old Town Alexandria, and while we originally had another restaurant in mind, Vola’s won us over with its waterfront location and inviting menu. We were told the wait would be 25 minutes, but we were seated in just 15, already a great start. The staff was warm, friendly, and helpful with recommendations throughout the meal, making us feel right at home.
