I’m a doctor and We are visiting from the Hampton roads area. We made the order via Uber Eats. My dad contacted to inform there were two missing items from the three orders he purchased. He simply stated “Hi, my name is ___ and I was missing an order of home fries and eggs, is there possible for a refund?” The person who answered had a language barrier and proceeded to speak in Spanish. She then provided the phone to someone else. My dad shared again to the second lady over the phone . She said’ well sir we don’t know what happened to the items’ then proceeded to say and make a false accusation that the Uber Eats driver stolen the fries and eggs . The uber driver works incredibly hard and it was very disheartening to hear that false accusation. She also seem very chaotic as she was yelling over the phone which at that point I was speaking with her. She was very angry and had an attitude. Instead of waffle shop taken accountability and issuing a refund , they tried to accuse an Uber Eats driver of stealing eggs and home fries. Please be careful in ordering from here because to lie and say someone stolen something without proof is insane. I will also be further reporting it because it’s discrediting to lie on someone and jeopardizing someone’s place of employment. The Uber Eats driver was a nice and kind man who was middle eastern.

I couldn’t tell you how the food was. We were sat in a corner and completely ignored. We made eye contact with wait staff, I signaled, I said “excuse me” and we left twenty minutes without an acknowledgement, let alone our drink orders taken. Suddenly, wait staff were happy to come to our table, if only to seat someone else.
It was busy, we got that. The issue was that nobody seemed interested in just saying they will be right with us or will find someone. Just basic respect. I have been wanting to try this place and finally coaxed my husband to go with me today. I am utterly disappointed after hearing amazing things and seeing the other reviews.

1 Star, I did takeout, the waffle was extra hard. The bacon was nasty. The New York strip was small. nasty & unseasoned. I love grits, but their grits were really nasty. The only thing that was good was the french toast. They did give me a refund for half of it. Overall i just wouldn't go back. The comment you left, “bit & played” I told you over the phone we tried to eat and took a bite & just couldn’t eat it. The food is disgusting just like y’all attitudes be blessed!

Coming from NC and needed to meet my siblings half way from NY and this little place popped up! And let me say WE WERE NOT DISAPPOINTED! We found parking immediately place is SUPER TINY but were able to sit a party of 7 (4adults&3kids ages 10-15) No waiting (Sunday) service was amazing everyone attentive and will definitely come back pricing was very reasonable. They have restrooms.

Nice hole in wall joint. It is situated in a rough looking area and parking lot isn’t plenty. Seating/Dining area is fairly small, tight space, so I think big groups would be very difficult to accommodate. But overall good food, nice sharable portions and reasonable prices. Friendly staff as well.
I had an amazing experience at The Waffle Shop! Despite it being rush hour and the place being packed, the staff handled everything so efficiently. The customer service was outstanding – they were super friendly and attentive. The waffles and bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich were delicious, fresh, and perfectly cooked. It's clear that they know how to handle busy times without compromising on quality or service. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food and atmosphere!

I recently took a trip to DC, and this was the best breakfast I had there. The food was delicious, and the menu had plenty of options. The waffles were especially good. I also appreciated the generous portions. The staff were very friendly. Definitely will recommend to friends traveling to the DMV area, and hopefully visit again myself!
