Gopchang Story KBBQ

It pains me to leave this review because the service was impeccable and the food was great. After we finished our meal we noticed multiple cockroaches, including one that had made its way onto the table.

I went with my family and our experience was amazing, Kevin gave us the best attention and we consider the best experience in a Korean bbq

We had dinner at the Korean BBQ tonight and Kevin was our server , he was absolutely amazing! Super attentive, friendly, and made sure our table had everything we needed the whole time. He checked in often without being overbearing and even gave great recommendations on what to try next. His positive attitude really made the experience even better. Thanks, Kevin, for the great service and making our night so enjoyable!

I’m so sad to say it, but this visit was pretty disappointing. The daechang was super chewy and not very flavorful, and our rolled egg (gyeranmari) even had some eggshells in it. To be fair, I had just come back from Korea and had some amazing daechang there, so maybe my expectations were a little high.

tbh, I wasn’t even planning to write a review, but I recently went to the NYC location with low expectations and ended up having an awesome meal. the daechang and pork belly were both delicious. It made me remember how meh my Annandale visit was, LOL (sorry 😭). I really wish there was a solid gopchang spot in NOVA, but I guess for now I’ll just have to get my fix when I travel.

Here we are! Another review of the many k bbq spots in the DMV that I am determined to eat at. Not sure of how many I’ve gone to, but I’m here now. The place has a decent atmosphere with a similar starters and sides. I’d say like many nationality foods, kimchi and some other small bites are the initial warm up to the event. The kimchi was a sweet to me. I’m not a fan of that style but continued onward. I had option a with fatty brisket, thin sliced pork belly and pork shoulder.
The sides I asked for were the soy bean stew, rice, old school lunch box and the house salad.
I never had an old school lunch box but it was tasty. It had thin sliced sausage similar to the jolliebee spaghetti sausage, rice,
Fried egg and kimchi. Nice!
The steamed egg was tasty in the tiny pot, the stew delicious and had enough spice, the salad with house dressing had a good balance of acidity and sweet, and they gave me corn cheese. That was great with some pork belly. Not sure that is something one does but it’s what I did.
The overall experience was decent.
My server was pretty cool and helps when you can connect on a level of hobbies or interests like sneakers. Big up to that guy knowing his stuff. I’d go here again. Not too shabby. 7/10 overall

This Korean restaurant never disappoints. The food is consistently fresh and flavorful, made with high-quality ingredients. The servers are always attentive and friendly, making each visit pleasant. The ambiance is warm and inviting, and the bathrooms are clean—something I really appreciate. Highly recommend!

I was a fan of gopchang story in other locations, but was hugely disappointed when I ate here.
Gopchang was not fresh, reminded of my dog’s breath and was abnormally tough. All the meat i had in general didn’t taste fresh and potato salad went bad. Strong sauce was there to disguise all the non fresh ingredients.

It seemed like it was managed by only part timers and the owner doesnt seem to care much about brand reputation and quality management.

I used to love gopchang but I dont think i will eat gopchang for a long time. I just lost my appetite.

Meat quality is low and pretty expensive compared to other place. Also customer service is pretty bad. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

The gopchang (intestines) here were okay, but noticeably different from the New York location. In NY, they’re crispier, cleaner tasting, and just have a better texture overall. The Annandale version felt a bit chewier and less flavorful, like they weren’t grilled quite right.

Best intestine place in DMV area. Service is phenomenal, my water is never empty, the food tastes really good, and I never struggle parking or anything. It's got everything I want. Portions are good and price is reasonable.

for the money you spend, it’s not worth the experience. i was very disappointed. this establishment need to step it up, no reason why i should have to remind the sever 3 plus times what i’m looking to ordering. every time it was brought to the table, something was always missing. a paying customer should never feel like they are bothering servers and that’s how it felt like everytime asking for something, worst experience ever.

Korean bbq spot with tortillas?? Changed my rating from a 4 to a 5, had pretty good service as well, getting the meat was quick, changed the pan often for us when it got burnt, meat was also pretty good. No complaints personally, shout out to the staff, very friendly

Fabulous experience! Ordered small intestine fried rice and large assorted intestines. The small intestine was very clean without a gamey/stinky smell and the fried rice was delicious as always…bonus point for presentation. Our server Jay was super goofy and made the special birthday dinner even more special. Birthday boy was extremely pleased with his birthday dinner 🎉
