I started going to L&L last summer, and my father and I instantly fell in love with it. The Loco Moco and The BBQ mix are standout favorites to us. The staff there have always been friendly, especially with the challenges coming their way with the renovations at the moment. Would recommend.
Tried Hawaiian L&L BBQ at Garden Social in Annandale. Ordered the Meat & Meat combo (BBQ beef and short ribs) with veggies and garlic rice. Total $27 w/ taxes. Too pricey for the amount of food.
The short ribs were great, though a bit fatty. The BBQ beef was basic. Garlic rice was disappointing—just white rice with raw grated garlic on top, not properly cooked together.
Service was neutral and impersonal, and the atmosphere was dull...

The service was good but I was disappointed with the lack of flavor in the musubis! i ordered a trio — chicken katsu, spam, and a sweet soy sauce chicken flavor(?) but they were just a bit oily and didn’t taste like much. which is sad bc i love musubis. the rice was also meh. the fries i ordered were hot and yummy tho.
would be willing to come back if they revamped their menu items.
