We love Astro Beer Hall! It’s a great spot for watching our local DC sports teams and far flung games like the NFL in Europe. There’s a wide variety of food on the menu - something for everyone! There’s an extensive draft beer selection and a speciality cocktail menu if you’re looking for something adventurous. The staff keeps us coming back.
The venue in Shirlington is cool. Nice that they have lots of TVs for the football games on the weekend. The food is average to below average. The old Falls Church location had great fried chicken, but the stuff they serve in Shirlington is not even comparable.

We used to love coming to the Shirlington location because it was so family friendly. They had games kids would enjoy, and many were playing them (spending a lot of money!) right along side adults. Now they got rid of most of the kid-friendly games (we can only play skee-ball so many times), which is a little disappointing. Maybe they moved the games to the lower level, I wouldn't know because my child isn't 21.
Since Shirlington is so family-oriented, I recommend you allow children to play up and downstairs until 8 pm at this location. I believe this will help you remain relevant in our neighborhood.
Vegetarian options: They have a few.

Chicken sandwich on an old bay donut bun and the pretzel with cheese were really good! The atmosphere still has some kinks to work out, need music or sound from the TVs, slightly more attentive service. I see the potential though, would definitely recommend.

Really wish this place had better dairy free offerings, as the drinks are good and the atmosphere is pretty cool. Stopped by today and figured I’d be safe eating a plain hamburger without cheese…unfortunately all of their buns for both burgers and hot dogs all contain dairy. Had to resort to just eating a side order of tots while my friends all had plenty of food options to choose from. :(
Dietary restrictions: If you’re lactose intolerant/dairy free, don’t bother eating here. You’ll be subjected to just plain tots or fries.

My GF and I went there for a date expecting your run of the mill edgy bar. We were extremely surprised at the atmosphere, service and quality of food and drinks.
We had the tots, smashburger and chicken sandwich. It was honestly some of the best in NoVa. The music was good and at the perfect volume (enough to enjoy, not so loud you can't talk to your friends).
Highly recommend!

If you’re looking for that awesome neighborhood eatery experience, please check out Astro Beer Hall. This place is amazing! If you’re looking for a place that has a sports bar vibe with multiple televisions to never miss a minute of action. The menu is filled with yummy goodness, just pick. Today I had brunch with eggs, sausage, half waffle, and home fries. My wife had the chicken and waffles, which she said was BOMB! The kiddies had chicken tenders with fries. Total 1000/10 would recommend. Our server was Jordan, and he never missed an empty glass and kept the drinks flowing. This was our first time and won’t be the last. Enjoy!

The beer taps are gross. Half of the beers are too gross to drink. Also this place is way too expensive, even compared to other Shirlington bars.

Shirlington Village is a great enclave with a variety of food and drinks options.
Astro Beer Hall has a wide selection of beers and their kitchen brings out food fast.
That is ideal as there is both a performing arts theatre and movie theater within Shirlington Village making Astro Beer Hall ideal for both before and after shows.
Vegetarian options: There are limited vegetarian options... Even the salads come with chicken by default!
