A solid baked goods shop. Great customer service. They had three section:outdoor seating area, indoor seating and your typical order and lay set up. My experience at the spot was brief. I order a bagel with cream and cheese. They just have one option for cream cheese( original), no option for toasted, and you have to prepare it in your own( spread the cream cheese). The place looked pretty busy for a Friday mid-morning. I may come here again to try their other selection besides the pastries.

Grabbed lunch today and was very unsatisfied to say the least. There was a long hair in my bakery made grilled chicken sandwich. As you can see from the picture it was inside the sandwich... very disgusting. Also my vanilla latte was very strong I almost didn’t even think she put vanilla in it. Very disappointing meal as I come to this bakery often.

Haven't tried their buns but their cookies, cupcakes are amazing. Try the chocolate peanut butter cupcake, and chocolate chip cookies. Wouldn't recommend the coffee cake- was a bit dry.

Good place. Always come for breakfast when passing through. Seems like they are starting to skimp on the meat in the breakfast sandwiches, especially when you order them with no egg and no aoli due to allergies. I'll probably come back as it's my friend's go to...
The service in this place was great. They were nice and very accommodating. I got the turkey sausage, egg and cheese sandwich on a croissant. I was not a huge fan of the turkey sausage but the rest of the sandwich was delicious. The lemonade was pretty tasty too. I would come back but next time I will skip the sausage.

Today, March 19, 2024 I catered breakfast for 60 employees. The food was delicious! Many thanks to Lourdes, Cristina and their team for providing excellent customer service. I highly recommend and can't wait to order again!
Stopped in and visited this location Monday morning - there was an unlimited selection of fresh pastries to select from, as well as breakfast sandwiches. I sat in the quaint dining room and had a ham and cheese and croissant along with hot cup of coffee..ordered my cinnamon bun to go! This is my second time visiting - weekends are much busier in the mornings but this location is definitely worth visiting at any day of the week for your quick breakfast and home made pastry!

If you live in Shirlington, you know about Best Buns. Incredible bakery with great prices. I often get a special order of a sausage, egg, and cheese croissant. Made fresh every day. No shortcuts. Friendly servers and you can always eat in at Carlyle next door if weather doesn't permit you to eat outside. I take all my guests there and it is always a favorite. Love this place!

Visited for the first time a few days ago. I ordered a croissant, apple monkey bread (which was HUGE), ginger cookie, and a rosemary loaf. All for around $22? It was enough for the tiny amount of cash I carry. Everything was good, maybe I'll try coffee with something toasted next time.

I'm updating my review after upper management communicated back to me after the unfriendly experience I wrote about. We had a productive discussion about what happened, and they sincerely apologized to me with the intention of improving their dog policy communications with their customers who are not allowed to enter their bakery to order. I hope this will improve since Shirlington is a dog and pet friendly neighborhood!

The baked goods are a step or two or ten up from grocery bakeries and worth the price. I love the seasonal specials like King Cake and Irish Soda bread.Parking: If you are going to look around it is easy to park in one for the adjacent garages.

Best Buns is a throwback to the old days when friends could meet up for coffee and a pastry and casually relax and enjoy the atmosphere. Best Buns is one of the best bakeries in NOVA and under Carlos and Lourdes runs like a swiss timepiece. Highly recommend!!!
