I was really impressed with them making bagels in the shop window. Many choices of bagels and schmear. Everything smelled amazing. Was very excited for the banana nut, although it tasted like nothing. Plain wheat. Then the jalapeno Ev with everything seasoned had great flavor but mine was overly salty. May have just been mine in the batch. For a first experience 2/2 bagels didn't wow me. Price was reasonable too. Uncertain if I'll try again though.
YUM! We got two kinds of bagels/CC/ingredients, and they were fantastic. The bagels are top tier, phenomenal exterior and interior textures, great flavors. Very satisfying bite. Good value, felt like money well spent, which is a welcome change these days. We will be back. Highly recommend. Ordered online and they were ready to go when we walked in. Well done!
This is the most generous dollop of cream cheese (or shmeer, if you prefer) of any bagel shop in northern Virginia (Call Your Mother is a close second, although they have more unique flavors). While I've found that Dunkin has cut their cream cheese to an almost microscopic layer, Bethesda Bagel acts like an old fashioned NY deli. The shmeer is also light and whipped. Bravo!
