Easily one of the best spots in Arlington. The doner is insanely good — juicy, perfectly seasoned, and packed with flavor. Portions are generous, service is fast, and everyone there is super friendly. You can taste how fresh everything is. My go-to place every time I’m in the area.

Capitol Döner
If you know Döner Kebab and miss it, come here. This is a Turkish-European style Döner with a few bread options, one of which is a large Turkish style pide. (It’s like a big flat bread roll.). Other options include a tortilla, a Greek pita, and a sub roll.
Though you start with your choice of bread, meat is the heart of a Döner. There's one vertical spit for chicken and another for beef/lamb. I went for the chicken because it was obviously stacked layers of deboned meat. The beef was almost all gone from the spit when I was there, so it’s likely very popular. It was at the point where I couldn’t tell if it was stacked individual slices of meat or American style ground meat. Other photos make me think stacked slices, which I strongly prefer.
Sandwiches are made to order when you are called to the counter. There are about a dozen vegetables and five or six sauces available. I was happy with my choices—everything contributed to the taste and nothing was missing. I find there’s some wisdom in not having too many options, especially when building a sandwich or a wrap.
As a bonus, the fries were very close to German pommes and were tasty on their own and when I added some to the sandwich.
Would I go again? Sure. The food is authentic, the prices good, and the workers were friendly and patient. It’s the best of its kind close to me and I’m happy to have it as an option!
