As a vegetarian, there was little in terms of options. An overpriced side salad or a $20 afterthought pasta? It feels very lazy and overpriced. My meat-eating friends enjoyed their dishes, but this is not a great place if you abstain from meat.

I hosted my Brother’s 40th birthday party this past weekend at Carlyle! I planned this party from the Hampton Roads area, which is not local. Morgan and her team were there to answer questions for me and made this the BEST experience! I had tried booking other places for this event and everything was SO complicated or expensive. I’m so thankful for the previous people who left reviews about the food because it made Carlyle an EASY choice !The atmosphere here is ELEGANT and WARM at the same time. I honestly couldn’t have chosen a better restaurant for this party. The party guests loved their meals ! (Please try the Crab CAKES OMGOSH!!)We CLEANED our plates ! Do you hear me?!!! The food was SO good! Everyone had smiles on their faces and the service was EXCELLENT! Our servers were so respectful and responsive — we had a great time ! The good people at Carlyle made my Brother’s 40th birthday dinner one to remember! Thank you Morgan and Josue for working with me and making it easy ! I WILL be back !! ❤️❤️❤️

We stopped here while on the road back home and glad we did. They had 2 brunch specials and we got 1 of each. The salmon brunch dish was very flavorful and the steak benedict was amazing. Steak was tender and the flavor was great. Our server was Zach and we were so impressed by him. Very polite, attentive and helpful. We will definitely return.

One of the few places left that does it right. Solid, consistent, reliably good. Big shout out to the friendly, thoughtful, and professional staff. Always a pleasant experience.

We were in town for a soccer tournament and they took great care of us. Food was on point... they knew we were kind of in a rush and were super quick. I can't remember the app we had, rockfish balls maybe. Sublime. Will be back for sure

Great place near the bus stop! The service and food were wonderful. We had the special warm banana cake and deep dish apple pie for dessert.

The steak was cooked very well and the soup was ok. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED the Cauliflower mashed. It tasted like Aladdin got it out the cave of wonders. Service wasn't great though. I'll give it another shot.

The tuna salad was ridiculously short on everything, including taste. For almost a $30 salad 4 small bites of tuna over a small spring mix doesn't value 5 bucks.

Nice place. I'd say a bit overpriced for the quantity of food, but most of the dishes we got tasted good. I had drunken ribeye, a bit small but really tasty. My wife had seared tuna salad, a little light on the tuna, but also tasty. We also split a ceviche which was just okay, and split the bread pudding which was very good, but again on the high end for dessert prices. Nice cozy ambiance as you would like. Nothing to run and tell all my neighbors about, but in general I liked it. I think we ended up at ~$180 for 3 people without tip or drinks...

I have frequented plenty of great American restaurants and usually have a great experience but this was disappointing. There was a hair in my food and I didn't raise a fuss. But in result there was no consideration. Just a replaced salad.

Christina is the Best! She so pleasant and nice. She could run the entire Resturant. She’s always smiling. Knows everyone by name. Knows most regulars drinks and just super pleasant! Always great to see her and drink my morning caffeine drink.

A very good restaurant that's been around for decades. 5 stars for the food, 5 stars for the service, and 5 stars for the atmosphere, and that's why it's been around for decades! Was there yesterday for Easter and it was a perfect way to celebrate Easter after Church!
