Fabulous experience at Grand Cru! Everything from good to staff was excellent. Wine selection is very good. I highly recommend this resturant in Ballston area.
We go there often and the it seems like the portion size has gone down as well as the price is going up . I understand the economy is not in a good spot right now, but it seems one or the other would be OK and not both . we were seated right next to a first date table, but there were other spaces available. The weight staff is usually very friendly and accommodating. My husband doesn't like that the quiche was taken off the menu. We miss the old beet salad. The seasonal ale is often out of stock. Good quality.
Always a great vibe, wonderful food and wine! A place with energy but one can still hold fun discussions with your group.
The ambience is great. Feels like you are in a France. The food was just OK. French Onion soup was great and I thought the Lobster Mac was decent but I received my scallops and they were pretty cold. Also, the surf part of the surf and turf was nothing spectacular/lacking flavor.
Subpar in every way. Waiter was rude and pretentious for no good reason, as the food was nothing to write home about. Wouldn't go back.
This is a great neighborhood restaurant. The menu is varied with many outstanding selections, and you can choose your bottle of wine from the extensive offerings on the shelves. The prices are reasonable. The servers remember our food and drink preferences and always greet us with a smile. It's conversation-friendly and definitely our "go-to" restaurant for a nice night out.
We had Carlos as our server on New Year’s Eve. He provided excellent friendly service. Everything we ate was delicious and the drinks and wine were great. Can’t wait to go back.

Good food and wonderful service. The waiters were really kind and helpful on our anniversary. Our food was tasty, especially the salmon and the French onion soup. Would recommend, especially on a cold winter day!

Took my mom here. Waiter disappeared halfway through, he started off by saying hey welcome in would you like a drink. Very much like McDonalds or something. Not at all fancy or like a French restaurant.

Had the most incredible birthday dinner at Grand Cru. Our server Erick did everything to make our experience amazing. Will most certainly come back for future date nights!

understaffed and ignored by waiter. had to get up 5 different times to ask him to assist us -- as in going back near the kitchen where he was standing. Also, 3 of 4 appetizers came out -- and then 10 mins later the 4th came out. Same with the meal. They didn't bring silverware (after they had cleared it with the appetizers -- so we had to get up and walk around the restaurant and ask for silverware.) Unbelievable. I will never eat there again.
