Hal & Al's BBQ Reviews
I came to Arlington for a business trip from Atlanta. I've been to the Ballston Food Court several times since I visit frequently. First time at Hal & Als and I ordered the brisket sandwich. the cashier who I assume is the owner was telling me about who he learned to make ribs from down in Atlanta. he was so hospitable too. he asked me to let him know what I thought. I completely forgot. everything was great. halal BBQ is a little different but it blew me away. I'll def revisit...read full review
We were so focused on enjoying the great food that we didn't take any pictures. Mohsin was great on the phone as well as in person. Came to the table to check on us and solicit feedback. Explained their philosophy and what makes their food stand out from the rest. Will definitely go back and this time take pictures!
Good halal BBQ and Brisket is hard to come by, but this place is absolute fire 🔥🔥🔥
The way the meat comes apart or falls off the bone? Pure work of art. The amazing seasoning, smokiness, and the juiciness? Party for your taste buds. And don't get me started on the amazing turkeys they make around Thanksgiving time.
Always had to wait for an event to get some, but I'm so excited for the new location they're opening! I'm definitely booking a flight out for...read full review

Hal & Al's BBQ offers delicious barbecue in a pleasant courtyard setting. The restaurant serves a range of dishes, including the popular BBQ brisket sandwich, chili, and Dino ribs. The brisket is smoky, tender, and flavorful, while the cornbread is light, buttery, and delicious. The mac and cheese is creamy and cheesy, and the tallow fries are solid and quite good. Many customers praise the quality food, friendly service, and the staff's respectful attitude, with some mentioning that the place is thoughtful and wholesome. Visitors often highlight the bold, smoky flavors of the food, with the Wagyu brisket sandwich described as melt-in-your-mouth and the brisket + dirty rice bowl full of flavor. The Old Bay mac and cheese is addictive, and the churro cake makes a perfect sweet finish. The restaurant is also known for its generous portions, which can feed more than expected, making it great for gatherings and catering. Located in a food court, it offers plenty of seating and quick service. While some feel the brisket sandwich could be improved with better presentation and toppings, overall, visitors are happy with their experience and plan to return. The place is praised for its tasty, halal food, reasonable prices, and welcoming atmosphere.
