I'm heartbroken at learning this place closed. The food was absolutely delicious authentic Yemeni cuisine. There are other Yemeni options in the DMV but nothing in comparison. My hope is the owners open shop at a new location. It boggles me how a place that nails the food and atmosphere so well shuts down. Such is the culinary business. House of Mandi, please return! RIP.

The Experience: Our family came to The House of Mandi on a weekend in October 2018, about an hour drive away from our home In order to indulge in some traditional food. We walked in and after about 3 or 4 minutes of standing by the door, we were seated. The food (5/5): The appetizer was amazing and was light enough that it left us hungry for the meal. The hummus was excellent and the samosas were crispy and fluffy, and the steaming fresh bread topped it off excellently. The Mandi Lamb is a bubbling stew served in a steaming stone bowl that was very flavorful and excellently spiced. The Beef Fahsah consisted of generously sized pieces of beef, some with bone and some without, placed on a bed of rice, garnished with fried onions. It was excellent as well. We experimented by ordering the dessert which had a strange taste but we were inevitably refunded. The service(3.5/5): The young men seemed inexperienced and lacked proper service skills but were very friendly and nice. There happened to be a party celebrating the birth of a child. This, in turn, seemed to have overwhelmed the waiters and thus caused a bit of confusion. There was not a lot of seating due to this as well. The older server was extremely friendly and helped us feel at home. We were unsatisfied with the dessert and he offered us a refund. Summary: This experience was all in all a very positive one with respect to the fact that the food was excellent and the service was decent. I will come back d

House of Mandy has closed. Has been replaced by the King of Koshary, an Egyptian restaurant. We joined them for their Iftar dinner two nights ago and enjoyed both the food and the friendliness of the staff.

The food here at House Of Mandi was exceptional! This is the absolutely best place if you want to experience the fine taste and great flavor of authentic yemeni cuisine. I ordered the foul, which are basically fava beans topped off with olive oil, I also got the chapati which is a special bread made with extra butter, and last but not least I also got the karak with milk, which is hands down the absolutely best tea I have ever tried in my life. Another thing that I absolutely love, is you get unlimited free bread with your meal. This place could be a bit on the pricey side but it is still worth every dollar. The service here was great, very nice servers and speedy arrival time for the food!

The food was good and the price was reasonable. The only surprise was that they added the 18% tip in the final bill themselves. 18% tip was probably ok but adding without asking and charging it was not ok

Sometimes you just want to keep a secret, with House of Mandi it will be sinful not to share that secret.

A quaint restaurant located in unsuspecting location. You might pass it driving down the street and not notice. This is not typical Arab found it isn't next year Arabic and Indian type spices. Wide variety of meats fish and vegetarian option is full of flavors we won't taste anywhere else. It's conveniently attached to a nice little tea shop. Service is quick the restrooms are very clean parking is available which is a rare commodity in Arlington.

I had very high expectations from this name as I am a big fan of Arabic food and I was in love during my stay in Dubai I use to eat almost every week Mandi. My friend takes me to this place and I was totally disappointed nothing compare to Dubai or anywhere it's only a name. Food ok

I just had a late lunch with a friend of mine at the House of Mendi in Wilson Boulivar. The menu had a mix of Middle Eastern but notably Yemeni cuisine. I tried the Kebab-Yemeni style (not on the menu). It was so delicious. It was a meal to remember. It was served with fresh oven bread and a layer of mixed salad and spicy sauce underneath the Kebab. The chief, who happens to be the owner., was extremely friendly, kind and hospitable. Will definitely go back. The menu also offers catering. Quite handy.
