To start I will say this place used to be very good. However, after being away from the area for a few years and coming back, we were surprised at the state of it now.

Atmosphere: dingy, dirty, dark... I know the owner said they believe it's clean, but please re-asses. It really isn't. You really need to address this.

Food: was okay. But again, it's not as good as it used to be, and with the cost of ordering out, it needs to be worth the expense.

Service: we walked in, and there was nobody standing there and had to wait a while till someone came out. He was friendly when he did.

I won't say we will never come back....i'll say we'd come back after the restaurant is able to improve the cleanliness and quality. I get you may be struggling, but to start you have to present a clean, welcoming environment.

It takes a lot for my husband and I to leave a place saying "we won't come back" but unfortunately, we won't be coming back here. The young gentleman behind the counter, like every other review has said was very nice, but he seemed like he didn't want to be there. The unfortunate part was, the flavors weren't great. I had the Bulgogi Steak bowl, all it was was ground beef and the Bulgogi flavor wasn't even there. The meat tray had been sitting in luke warm water is what it seemed like. My husband had a poke bowl and he even said the sauces were so strong, they overpowered everything else in the bowl. The rice wasn't even sticky rice, so it didn't even have a poke bowl consistency. The place itself needs some life put back into it, it's dusty, has crumbs everywhere, empty coolers and pastry holders, the beverage choices were only cans of soda in a fridge not even close to full. It takes a lot for my husband to call anything mediocre, he ate the bowl only because he was hungry and we were in a hurry and I only ate one fourth of my bowl. Otherwise, make the trip to Annandale for some real authentic Korean Bulgogi or any other poke spot for better Poke Bowls.

@Owner of Kovi:

I'm sorry you're struggling, but as a patron this is how I felt in all honesty. I was very surprised and shocked that the Bulgogi was ground beef. It was called "steak" and it wasn't even steak texture. Your store didn't have the pork I originally wanted, ok, but as a Korean I did expect some ethnic cuisine even in fusion places.

If you want constructive criticism, the one thing I can say that may be of help in the future...don't import/buy kimchi that is mass produced (if you do this). Buy your own ingredients, make your own kimchi and make it your own. Every batch may be different, but if it's a family business, that is a nice expectation especially if patrons know you homemake some of your ingredients.

Very similar to other reviews. Guy behind counter was nice, but could tell he didn't care. Food was med... Some ingredients were missing from the bowl, no soy sauce or other sauces available for customers, the restaurant was generally dirty. Seems like the place and food has potential, but needs a major facelift.

Guy behind the counter was nice but you could tell he wasn’t proud to work there. Place was absolutely filthy. Food was disgusting the meat is as close to dog food as it gets. I am legitimately concerned about a food poisoning factor after eating here.

Closed at 11:30 am on a Monday despite posted hours being an 11:00 am open. I'm not surprised, thanks to the dozens of other reviews that mention the store not being open during open hours. Avoid.

The bulgogi didn’t even taste close to bulgogi and the rice was terribly made, the place was very dirty and very band the sauce was super band, the raw fish was NOT fresh

Food is amazing but this is the 3rd time in two weeks that they say they are open and on their door it shows their hours as being open but not a single person is inside and the doors are locked . Terrible customer service and business model

Closes randomly so never know if it will be open until you get there.

The food here is great but you can never count on the place to be open. I don’t really mind because I work in this area but be aware they are almost never open at 11. I really wish they would just shorten their hours to like 12-5, or something more manageable and then just be consistent. I’d come here every day for lunch if I knew it would be open when I got there. I think you are losing out on a lot of business because people don’t want to drive all the way across town if they aren’t sure you will actually be open. Which is unfortunate because the food is very good.

We were in the area for another event and we're looking forward to trying this place out. Online it says open at 11am and door says they open at 11am... But yet we are here at 11:15am and they are closed and no one in sight. Highly disappointed.

Signs says they are open at 11. Google says they are open at 11. Website says they are open at 11.Except... they are NOT open at 11.
