They have amazing bar of various sauces. Good quantity and quality was quite good, the dumplings were not our favorites but augmented with the sauces were good. The other dishes as well as tea were good we will go back.

I've tried Mala Tang a few times and stuck with some of the more traditional dishes, such as the dumplings and the kung pow chicken and fried rice. There's nothing inherently wrong with the food, but it's simply not good enough to keep me coming back. I've been searching for a go-to Chinese restaurant in the DMV. Unfortunately, Mala Tang isn't it.

My braised beef soup was very good. Spicy and hot helped me fight the cold.
Customer service was not great. No greeting, no courtesy.
The restaurant was clean and organized. I wished they played Chinese music than Jazz.
