The recipe was developed by Oregon State's Department of Fermentation Sciences, based on a 26-page laboratory report from 1948. The first batch was produced at Right Proper Brewing in Shaw. The 4.7% post-Prohibition lager is brewed with faked corn and hopped with Oregon varietals available in the 1940s.

Union Craft Brewing - Double Duckpin

But we soon felt like we were just practicing. Knocking down all those little Duckpins just made us thirsty for something bigger! So we went back to the brewhouse and doubled down on malts and hops. The result is a double IPA that's danker than a rental shoe and rolling with ten frames of juicy, resinous hops down a solid lane of malted barley and wheat. Delicious food and quick service. We always clean our plates. We try something new each time and its always delicious. Recommend their homemade ice cream sandwiches if you have a sweet tooth.

Certain bites were commendable, other were far below par.

The beef rib was the star of the show, but it had to deliver given the big price tag. Probably 2 pounds of meat on it though and very tender.

The brisket was shocking bad. A couple inedible fat only slices in my taster portion, super thinly slice, nearly shaved which was strange. Dry as well. Not sure if I got the app tax (I ordered delivery) but this was not good.

Went today. The Food: Impressive and inexpensive beef rib. Best value I've seen for a while. Thick Brisket, very good. Sausage was impressive as well. Sweet sauce was great. Not a fan of the thin brisket, more like sliced beef. Service was excellent and nice guy from Philly made sure I left happy. Inside was cool, like real Texas places.
