First time back to Thai Shirlington in a few years. This used to be our go-to spot for solid Thai food before moving away. Back in the area for a work trip and had a craving for good Thai so I decided to come by the restaurant. I’m sorry to say it, but I was quite disappointed with my dining experience here. Food was decent at best—spring rolls were good, but the drunken noodles dish was small and lacked flavor and any spice—don’t put 3 🌶️ next to the meal if it has zero heat. The staff were friendly, but forgot to bring me tea, didn’t give me a plate for my spring rolls, and just seemed disorganized overall. I was expecting good service and a great meal, but left hungry and dissatisfied. Not sure what happened but this place seems to have gone downhill over the years.

They are 30 years strong. Restaurant was recently updated with a new interior and alas, higher food prices. However, the food is exceptional. It can get busy at times, but the staff are friendly and always have a smile. Our favorite Thai eatery.

Ordered to-go: Thai Fried rice, pork and beef shumai, crispy spring rolls, and beef and broccoli. The order was ready so fast! (10 minutes) and everything was delicious. Next time I’m in the area we will be ordering again!

Insipid, the Chef Boyardee of Thai. Just gross, don’t bother if you’ve been anywhere near Thailand.
Pictured below, what we’ll laughingly call “Panang curry, Thai hot”, which a small step shy of blistering when properly done, mine was less than mild. This was coconut milk, lots of peanut butter and something pink that was utterly flavorless, no chili, no lime, no cilantro, nothing that resembles Panang curry.

I like to explore thai restaurants at any new city I visit and I have to say that this was the BEST Panang Curry (with tofu) I have ever had. We had dinner here AND lunch the following day - that is how good the food we got was!
Other dishes ordered: Summer Garden Rolls, Mixed Veggies w tofu, broccoli & Tofu teriyaki, Salmon with rice on the side, Mango sticky rice & Taro root ice cream for dessert.
Thai Iced Tea was 4/5 as I could taste the Black Tea than I would like but it was still delicious.
Minimal wait for a table for 4 each time we went.
*we let our waitress know that we wanted our food cooked without oyster sauce due to dietary restrictions and it was easily complied with*

Went for a date night with my husband and my dog shadow. I was nervous since my dog can be very hyper but the owner came out and made us feel very welcomed. The staff was friendly and the whole dining experience was amazing! The pad thai was a 10/10. I highly recommend. We will deff be back.

Jennie was absolutely amazing. She recommended the Nua Siam and General Tso noodles. Both were delicious. Portions were large, customer service was on point, and food quality was A1.

0 stars! This business lists different prices online from what they actually charge for carry-out orders. When I went to pick up my to-go order, I questioned the price discrepancy and asked what I was getting for the upcharge. I then compromised and told them to just give me an extra thing of white rice, and the two employees became rude and unprofessional. When I opened the extra container of white rice, I found a hair. That's what T.H.A.I. Shirlington does when people make requests that they don't like; they get angry and contaminate your food. I was refunded, apologized to, and offered free food the next time I ordered. I won't be back!
