It was fine. Pretty good value the money. Pole bowl was good. And Asian bowl. Pasta was just ok. Salmon was done well and pesto pasta was good. Cauliflower and Brussels sprout apps were very good.
We sat outside and enjoyed the warm weather on the patio. The wait staff was polite and attentive. A few people in our party have a gluten allergy and there were lots of options they could choose from. The food was good and the experience was great.
Service on the patio is pretty lacking. Napkins blowing about on the ground. No water refills. Long gaps with no check-in.
We made a trip to Arlington for a pizza deal on Pi Day. The pizza was good but not worth traveling for without a deal. The Brussels sprouts and squash soup were good, though the soup was not brought until after several other things. We received a more elaborate salad than we ordered and the waiter took it off the bill although we offered to pay for the one we ordered. The wines were good.
Great salad options. Turkey burger and the salmon were a big hit with our visiting friends. Fairly busy for a Monday night but service didn't suffer.
I recently had the pleasure of brunching at True Food Kitchen, and it was a delightful experience. The food was absolutely delicious, with a variety of healthy and flavorful options. The coffee was rich and aromatic, and the natural juice was refreshing and invigorating. The service was top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who made sure everything was perfect. Overall, True Food Kitchen is a fantastic spot for brunch, offering a great combination of tasty food, excellent beverages, and outstanding service. Easy parking at the Ballson mall. Highly recommended!
The glass noodles with teriyaki and chicken was very tasty. The food was fresh and the atmosphere welcoming. I very much enjoyed my dinner here. I would come back again!
True Food Kitchen in Ballston has quickly become one of my favorite go-to spots. I just love that healthy, clean feeling I get after eating here, and the atmosphere makes it even better. There’s a lovely outdoor seating area if you’re craving fresh air, and the indoor decor is warm and inviting. I actually started off with the Honeydew Limeade, which was surprisingly refreshing and not overly sweet—a perfect start.
I've tried a few different things here, like the teriyaki quinoa bowl, edamame dumplings, and the chicken avocado wrap, but the standout for me is definitely the quinoa burger. Unfortunately, it wasn’t on the summer menu, so I tried the Turkey Burger instead, and it was just as flavorful and satisfying. My friend ordered the ancient grain bowl with salmon, and honestly, I was almost envious because it looked so vibrant and filling.
On my most recent visit, I had the seasonal ingredient salad—think butternut squash, Brussels sprouts, and a deliciously tangy horseradish vinaigrette. It was a unique twist on the usual salad, and the horseradish added a nice kick without being too overpowering. The only downside was the portion for the price; I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s a budget-friendly spot, but the quality ingredients do help justify it.
The service was also top-notch. Our server was super attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, even helping a friend navigate a few allergy concerns. The only hiccup was when we had to wait a bit to pay, but overall, the staff seemed efficient and friendly.
And, as a final tip—after a healthy, feel-good meal, if you're looking to wind down later, Pull Up DC is the place to go. Whether it’s a late-night craving or just a chill vibe you’re after, Pull Up DC has you covered.

On November 3rd, 2024, we recently dined at True Foods Kitchen, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The food quality was outstanding – every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. For brunch we had the, 2 refresher beverages, a harissa cauliflower for an appetizer the bison pizza and Nashville chicken sandwich for our entrees. Everything was delicious and memorable. We also had the Blueberry compote pancakes on the side. You could tell that a lot of care and attention went into sourcing and preparing each ingredient, making every bite a treat.
A special shoutout to our server (who's exact name spelling I cannot remember), Felanadra, who made the experience even more memorable. Her knowledge of the menu was impressive; she guided us through the options with great suggestions, tailored to our tastes. She was warm, attentive, and genuinely hospitable, which made us feel so welcome. Felandra’s service truly elevated the whole meal – thank you! Highly recommend True Foods Kitchen for anyone looking for a wholesome, delicious meal served with a personal touch.

True foods is one of the best restaurants in the area. Whenever I eat here the ambiance and service is top notch I and I never feel guilty knowing they care about the ingredients they use and being health conscious. We splurged this morning with the bottle of champagne- where you can never go wrong!- And had the best post yoga gals brunch. Thanks TFK for always being the best!

Food was pretty good but the bread on my wrap was a little dry. I think my cousin's dish was better (it looked really good). Service was great. Smoke Show Old Fashioned was delicious. Love that the calories are right there on the menu. Would return.
