I visited Westover Tacos with my family yesterday. The hostess wasn't very friendly and didn't seem happy to be there. However, our waiter was very kind and attentive. We ordered queso and tacos- the queso was thick and flavorful, but not very hot. The tacos were okay; the vegan or veggie taco was surprisingly good, but the chicken taco was a bit soupy. I wouldn't be returning for the tacos, but their breakfast menu looks interesting and worth trying next time. I appreciated their Tuesday taco night deal and the government employee discount. Plus, they had Halloween candy at the door, which was a nice touch. The music was also just a bit loud for my liking.

I really like this place. Food and vibes are great. I come here whenever I’m in town. I wish they would get rid of the QR code system. I’d rather order from a human and I think it would improve the experience overall.

The food was good but the restaurant seems oddly designed. It is also super dark.

Westover Taco is a cozy, local favorite with a laid-back vibe. The tacos are fresh, flavorful, and nicely portioned — simple but made with care. The ingredients taste clean, and the tortillas have that perfect texture. Friendly service, chill atmosphere, and food that feels honest and satisfying. A great neighborhood spot for easy, tasty bites.

It's a bit too trendy by half but since taking over from The Forest Inn ... it's come a long ways. The open 'garage' windows are great. The small plate tacos? Perfectly good. Sure I think the bartender, Ceaser, is an Arlington legend -- but there is still a lot to like in this family- (and kid-) friendly locale. There is a lot to recommend.

Mediocre. (TLDR: tacos good but small, expensive salsa, bad sides)
To be fair, I’m from Texas, so I know what good tacos taste like, what’s included with the meal or should be.
This place does not serve authentic tacos, it has more of a modern California vibe than what you’d expect from a dish that’s traditionally Mexican.
So here’s my gripe, dear viewer and owner:
The rice and beans are EXTREMELY bland. It’s literally just rice. No seasoning, no tomato chunks, no cilantro, nothing. Same with the beans, they taste like they came from a can. They lack flavor and depth. It hurt my Hispanic heart.
The tacos: they’re good. The flavor is there, but they’re small. You’d have to buy quite a few to feel satisfied, which I’m sure is their strategy.
$1.25 for a side of salsa?? Come on, guys. That should be complimentary. Do you hate your customers?
But here’s a business suggestion: look at the surrounding taco areas, maybe a restaurant you’d like to be more like that is more successful. Improve, don’t serve mediocre food. This restaurant has too much potential to serve sub-par food. Also…stop charging for salsa. That’s just insulting. And one more suggestion, you may not like this one. Get rid of the QR code ordering . Build a relationship with your customer. People like being talked to. I hope the food improves.
