Wine is overpriced. But besides that, solid food, excellent service, beautiful atmosphere.

I arrived early to a dinner reservation I made for 9pm for what I assumed would be a lovely evening of dinner and drinks with my soulmate.
I was met by a woman who had just left the set of Desperate Housewives who informed me that there was a private event going on and that dinner would not be served to peasants like myself and my date. She also then scanned me with a ray gun and confirmed that my silicone to human flesh ratio was way under the required threshold. After this she told me she doesn’t work at Whino and a host came up to speak with us. What a twist!
The host asked us to return at 9pm due to the private event. On our return we entered the nightclub and dodged extras from the Matrix Reloaded left and right trying to make our way to our table. The DJ was playing music so loud he had to be tied to the dj booth (a card table with a tablecloth on it) in order to keep from being knocked from his feet by the sick jams.
The host leading us was instantly deafened while walking in front of the speaker as napkins were sent scattering in the air like a flurry of doves.
He attempted to seat us 3 feet in front of a speaker in order to eat dinner in a dimension made entirely of extreme decibel torture. To avoid this demise my date and I broke a third story window and used my shirt to rappel to the ground floor outside, making quick work of our escape, which was much less dramatic than the scene inside Whino.
*And scene…*
No but seriously they should just not accept dinner reservations for their “only 3 tables” if they’re going to have a DJ playing a private party at the same time.

A little slow on Saturday night due to only one bartender. But other than that the staff was great.
Beautiful spot and the bride to be had a great time! Food was amazing, larger portions than expected
Last minute change of plans and the desire for a second visit pushed WHINI to the top of my list. Great location, wonderful food.

I had my birthday party at Whino this past weekend for about 50 people and it was perfect. Planning was smooth. My guests loved the food, atmosphere and music (DJ Oso Fresh). Whino has a great vibe so you don't need to worry about decorations if you don't feel like doing all that. It's conveniently located for guest from all over the DMV, there are close hotels for out-of-towners and parking is available so that also makes it a great choice for events.

The event venue is super unique and the food is wonderful, full of style and flavor. The dishes are globally inspired and I tell you it's hard to find a place like this here . A great option for those looking to host an event or just have a good time w good food/drinks here in Arlington.
p.s.: I'm a local fan.

Wow! Whino is way more than a wine bar! The restaurant is full of art and great character, the menu is fun and tasty, they have an excellent whiskey selection, and the total experience exceeded our expectations. The servers were kind and knowledgeable, but the restaurant was busy and they seemed to be understaffed, so service was “good,” and with one more person it probably would have been “great.” Overall, We were really impressed, and we will certainly go back again soon.
Great food, love the small plates. Best Hugo Spritz, I’ve ever had! 100% recommend, I am surprised it’s not busier.
