They apparently dislike single fathers eating out with their kids. Attempted to go here for an early dinner. Single dad with two kids. This is 4:30 on a Saturday afternoon, the restaurant is mostly empty, and every single booth is empty. Asked to sit in a booth when the hostess came up to us. Get the typical follow me. She ignored the request and takes us over to a table crowded in-between two other parties. Giving here the benefit of the doubt, I asked if we could sit in a booth because both of my kids wanted to sit next to me. She replied that booths “are only for parties of 4 or larger” I ask if she was sure, we’d like a booth. She offers to sit us in a confined corner. Once again, the restaurant is mostly empty. I say we’re going to go and tell them that I’m sick of being treated differently because I’m a single dad trying to take his two kids out to dinner. I had been here many times previously for lunch with coworkers etc. Never had an issues being seated in a booth with 3 people until it was with my kids. Won’t be back ever again.

Beware if you’re visiting this place for the first time.

Our family arrived at 8:45 PM, and the not-so-friendly owner reluctantly seated us, saying we needed to eat quickly because they were closing at 10 PM. Among the dishes we ordered was Chicken and String Beans. However, when the dish was brought to our table, I noticed it was mostly string beans with barely any chicken — and it’s priced around $16!

I asked the server about this, and the owner rudely intervened, saying that if we wanted more chicken, it would cost extra, and that string beans are expensive too. When I took a picture of the dish and mentioned that I would write a review, the owner dismissively said it didn’t matter because the restaurant has been in business for 20 years.

Trying to reason with her was frustrating and unproductive. Eventually, we asked her to take the dish back, but she outright refused. Left with no other option, we decided to eat the dish since we would be charged for it anyway. As I was about to take my first bite, the owner angrily snatched the plate from me — while my fork was still in my hand!

This behavior was incredibly embarrassing and rude. We decided to pay the bill and leave. Surprisingly, one of the staff members apologized on her behalf as we were paying, acknowledging how inappropriate her behavior was.

I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone.

We’ve been coming to this restaurant for a number of years. After the last couple of times, however, we have decided not to come here anymore. The reason is we have noticed significantly reduced portion of all dishes, while the prices are still creeping up. Some dishes are probably half of the size from a couple of years ago. They looked like leftovers. When you are served with less, you feel like a second-class citizen, not a good feeling. Yen’s Kitchen is on a slippery slope ruining its reputation and, unfortunately like most of Chinese restaurants in America, on the way to self-destruction of its own business. This is just the dumbest thing. It used to be a really good restaurant. I can’t fathom what’s going on in the owner’s mind. Cutting corners and reducing quality is not the way to grow your business or even sustain it. I guess it is no different, maintaining a good reputation and sustaining good business are just not in the culture of Chinese restaurants here.

I am visiting from NYC and needed to feed my family. We looked up a sushi restaurant and Yen's popped up. I am so glad we decided to dine here. The service was great and the food was excellent. We order a sashimi deluxe, naruto roll, shrimp pad thai, pea tips with garlic, chicken fried rice and chicken with broccoli. The sashimi was fresh. The naruto roll was tasty. Shrimp pad thai was perfect. Chicken and broccoli was percect. Chicken fried rice was percect. Nothing was overly salty and fhe quality of the food is perfect. We will definitely stop back if we visit again.

The sushi was very good. We also got crab Rangoon, egg drop soup, and kung pao chicken. All of which was very good too. This is was our second time dining here and we will dine here again in the future.

Was surprised a Chinese in the middle of nowhere. Even more surprised about the restaurant itself. It appears to be as asian fusion type restaurant. The ambient was great. The vibe is top notch. Modern design. Staff was helpful and willing. Restaurant was clean. And the foods were exceptional. Will definitely go back if we are in the area again. We are tourists.

I recently visited Yen's Kitchen & Sushi Bar and had a mixed experience. The "Broccoli Cauliflower Beef" was the highlight of the meal. The beef was tender, and the combination of broccoli and cauliflower provided a nice balance of texture. The fried rice that came with it was flavorful and perfectly cooked, making it a satisfying dish overall. The L5 Non-Raw Sushi Combo was also enjoyable, with fresh ingredients and a variety of textures. The eel and smoked salmon, in particular, stood out with their rich flavors, making this combo a great choice for those who prefer sushi without raw fish.

Unfortunately, the General Tso's Tofu was a letdown. While the tofu was crispy, the sauce was overly sweet and lacked the spicy kick you'd expect from a good General Tso's dish. The flavor felt one-dimensional, and the steamed rice didn’t do much to elevate the dish. Overall, Yen's Kitchen offers some great options, but not every dish hit the mark. It's worth a try if you’re looking for a mix of Asian stir-fries and sushi, but be selective with what you order.

Food is always good. We love the 3 cups chicken, stir fry snow pea tips and stir fry Chinese spinach but today we wanted to try something new. V12 Eggplant In Yu Xirng Sauce was very very good. CK1 Curry Chicken was great and snow pea tips with beef was a bit salty if eat by itself (that's why you should eat with rice, right?). Will come back for more!
