Great food! I had the catfish sandwich, which was perfectly prepared. Great place to eat before hitting up the local wineries.

We stopped in for latte's and they were excellent. We had a small issue and they did a great job of taking care of us and fixing it. We saw other people's food and everything looked amazing! We'll definitely be back.

Ill start with the meats were tasty. First time there and had higher hopes for the restaurant since it will be very close to where we are moving. Found the hummus low grade store bought & slathered in the same sauces that they put on everything & served it with the same cold soggy focaccia they serve everything with..Inedible. Husband had the steak that was delicious and cooked perfectly, I had a quarter chicken and it was also tasty and juicy. The problem is the weird mushy rice they serve it with, and again both were placed on the sauces and served with more soggy cold focaccia. Pushed the bread & rice aside and wiped the sauces off the meats and ate the meats and coleslaw which was good. Needless to say we went home and had a second dinner because we were still hungry. Service was very friendly & place is very clean but they need to step up the side dishes and stop hiding the food with those sauces. The menu is all over the place and made no sense. It was a weird experience.

What a great place to grab a bite and a bourbon! Everyone was so friendly here!
Adjacent to VA Foothills Disterilly, they have a nice variety of hot and cold items, made to order, desserts, pastries, coffee and a large drink cooler.
Everything was fresh and flavorful. Generous portions. I loved their hummus!
Indoor and outdoor seating, dine in or to go
Service was fast and space was very clean!
Ample parking
Overall a great visit!

Today, my wife and I decided to treat ourselves to lunch on the first day of school for our kiddos, and we chose Exchange Café. What a fantastic decision!
I ordered the Pincho Sampler—featuring chicken, beef, and shrimp with a vibrant chimichurri sauce, accompanied by San Juan rice, focaccia bread drizzled with olive oil, and crispy fried tostones served with garlic aioli. Every bite was absolutely delicious.
The pinchos instantly transported me back to my time living in Luquillo, Puerto Rico, where I’d buy pinchos from the local vendors right at the beach. This meal brought back those wonderful memories in the best way possible.
To top it off, the owner Craig came by to check on us and ended up chatting with us about our families and experiences. It was really nice of him to take the time to connect personally—it added a warm and genuine touch to our visit.
If you’re looking for a spot that offers authentic flavors with a cozy, welcoming atmosphere, Exchange Café is a must-visit. Can’t wait to come back!

Had dinner here on a Wednesday evening. Not crowded at all. Everything was excellent. Wife had the Mahi with mixed vegetables. I had the 1/2 chicken and parmesan potatoes. Both came with rice and the best focaccia bread we’ve ever had. Not your typical ‘cafe’. More like an upscale restaurant put into a cafe like atmosphere. Desserts made fresh daily. Can’t wait to come back for breakfast and/or lunch. Service was great. Everyone was super friendly and spoke with the chef who is incredibly talented. Looking forward to trying the fried chicken sandwich next time.
Second visit on 9 Aug 2025. Had the fried chicken sandwich. Best chicken sandwich I know of. My favorite used to be at Lilly Pearl's in Richmond, but this has them beat. Served on the focaccia bread (I'd prefer a brioche bun, but I get it since they serve the focaccia bread with other dishes). I'd also prefer long pickle slices instead of the small hamburger ones, but again, my preference and doesn't diminish from the overall great taste of the sandwich. For $12 with a side salad, this is a great deal as the sandwich is huge. Will definitely be back and happy that I can have a great fried chicken sandwich only 15 min away instead of having an hour drive to Richmond. If you haven't stopped by this place, don't sleep on it.

Stopped by for a late lunch today; if you don't want a heavy meal, ask about the various salads they offer. I had the grains salad and it was sooo good! Fresh everything - all ingredients tasted the way you would expect them to!

We stayed in gordansville for the week and ate her for lunch 3 times, very difficult to please all of us (family of 4) so this was an absolute score ! The chicken sandwich will knock your socks clean off lol ! Burgers are juicy and delicious! Coffee is smoother than a Starbucks! Really can't go wrong here ! If there was 6th star id click on it ! Do yourself a favor and stop in you won't be disappointed!

Exchange Cafe is right next to the distillery and has a very impressive cocktail selection. The fireman’s chicken is phenomenal. The squash was a little undercooked this time but perfect the last time I had it. The dining area can use some work, looks like gas station dining and the ac was broken, I believe anyways cause it was a bit uncomfortable temperature wise. The food is great so it is worth a visit.
