“My friends and I were excited to try the distillery next door and after a great cocktail, we slid across the patio to the cafe next door. We saw they had indoor seating but we chose to sat outside on the patio. The service was just as great as the food. I had the grilled vegetable plate and was blown away by how delicious everything was, especially the hummus! We also had a pork sandwich, which was fantastic, and grilled shrimp and steak skewers, which again, came in generous portions and were absolutely delicious!Between the casual vibe, the food and the location (perfect for folks who live north of Charlottesville who don't want to brave heading into town for a great dinner or folks driving back from the wineries) we can't wait to go back!”
“I've always ordered take out and it's always correct order. The pizza dobhave a New York taste, especially the dough...I'd like them to leaveb it in the oven an extra minute or 2. The XL will feed 4 or 5 hungry ”
“While vacationing in the area, we stopped at Burnley, which was the first of three planned winery visits. We did tastings of each wine. Wow wow wow. Delicious! We left with a case of wine. And needless to say, those other two stops were not necessary.”
“This is a large estate that produces very good examples of both red and white varietals and blends. We sampled the Chardonnay and their prmiere offering called Octagon, which is a classic Bordeaux blend. The name comes from the octagonal shaped library in the ruins of Governor Barbour's mansion which lie on the estate. Apparently it was designed by Thomas Jefferson whose favorite shape was the octagon. The mansion burned in the late 1800s and the ruins have been left as they were. The site was both scenic and peaceful. We observed two bald eagles circling above while we enjoyed our wine. There is also an impressive Italian restaurant on premises that we hope tou try if we ever get back that way again.”
“Really friendly winery with great wine! We arrived a bit before tasting time, but loved that the phone numbers to the owners were on the door so that we could still enjoy a tasting. We really enjoyed all the wines and they were distinct from the usual Virginia terroir. Wines were reasonable priced, and we definitely enjoyed the stop. We would definitely recommend if you're in the Barboursville/Charlottesville area!”
“It's always a treat to dine here—and enjoy superb meals inspired by regional Italian cuisine in a relaxed but refined country setting. Best of all, they have a huge library selection of the estate's outstanding wines, stretching back decades. Many of Barboursville's famous Bordeaux blend Octagon, and other reserve red wines, really show their beauty after 10-20 years in bottle. Treat yourself to them with here with great food and you'll fall in love!”
“Their donuts aren't what they used to be when they were made locally, but they're still good. This isn't the first time that one of their drive up cashier's found it impossible to get my order right, no matter how often I repeated it”
“Wow!Not your average brewery, much more! If you're coming from out of town, definitely worth the drive from 64!Food on site, plenty of places to sit, plenty of parking, board games, arcade games, playground, sand box, dog park (dogs must be leashed inside), lots of outdoor seating! It's great!I didn't see High chairs, but they have nice backed benches inside.tons of toys for toddlers to play with and a jungle gym outside and it's fenced off so no worries for the runnersMet up from out of town with my old friend and her family.Burgers were good, cheese curds great, loved the flight- we got ciders mostly which were all delicious”
“We knew Keswick was the venue for our wedding the moment we drove onto the property. The drive through the vineyard is breathtaking no matter the season. We were initially torn between a date in August or late October. Cindy, the wonderful owner of Keswick, spent over an hour with us on the phone (before we had even signed a contract) talking through each date’s pros/cons, showing us pictures of the vineyard at the respective times, and helping us coming to our ultimate decision of October. She was so kind and patient with us as we went back and forth with our decision. Working with the Keswick team was a dream – we are not from the area, but they were able to accommodate a visit each time we were in town for us to check out the property again. We were given complimentary wine tastings when selecting the wines we’d be using for the wedding. They have a dedicated area on the property for you to bury the bourbon if it's a tradition you choose to take part in.Grace, the event coordinator, was amazing. She was quick to answer any questions we had via email or over the phone. Cindy, the owner mentioned above, goes above and beyond to be sure your day is everything and more you would want it to be. She is subtly present the day of your wedding to make sure everything is running smoothly. She drove us and our photographer around in a golf cart during cocktail hour to make sure we found the perfect spot in the vines for golden hour. She genuinely wants your wedding to be the most special day.The beauty of the property really speaks for itself. We were so lucky with the gorgeous weather coupled by the stunning fall scenery of the foliage and vines. We continue to have our family and friends rave about how beautiful the day was. We would choose Keswick over and over again!*Photos by Barbarah Perttula!”
“We had the shrimp and grits and it was so flavorful! The egg Benedict was also very good. The potatoes are Soo crunchy and perfectly seasoned. Definitely coming back here again.”
“What a cute place. If you want a place to enjoy some coffee, and talk to good people while your kids play around in the kid section this is the place to go. The owners are particularly kind!”
“Beautiful dining experience with delicious fresh farm to table gourmet cuisine. I especially enjoyed the wine parings and the service !! Thank you for a nice evening out! Recommend if you need a special night out or just a new foodie experience!”
“I was passing through town, saw they had coffee, ordered a latte, it was great, and the front counter person was super-friendly. Didn't get a baked good or lunch, but prices looked reasonable as did the baked goods.”
“What a find! While out exploring we stopped in for a bite- we lucked out with the BBQ porkapalooza! A great platter to try just a bit of everything! Never had pork belly before, it was good. Everything was. Had a chance to try the brisket and that was deemed the best. The platter was large enough to share. Everyone in our party was happily satisfied. Service was a bit confusing as there is a lot to take in as you order at the counter. Staff was very friendly, and service was fast. Definitely stop in if in the area.”
“Love this restaurant!! Worked in the area for months and this was my go to food!! Great salad bar & soup !! And absolutely the best coconut cream pie!!!! Very friendly staff!!! Great food!!!”
“Micah's is a great place for a terrific cup of coffee when you're on the go. Unfortunately, there is no seating either outdoors or in the premises. They have a huge variety of drinks to offer including coffee, lattes and other espresso drinks, smoothies, and more! They've recently added baked goods as well. If you are watching your sugar intake, they offer several sugar-free syrups as well. We skip the big corporate guys, and prefer to get our coffee fix at Micah's!Dietary restrictions: Lots of sugar-free syrups, and Keto-friendly options. The sugar-free Sugar Daddy made breve is delicious!Kid-friendliness: They have smoothies geared towards kids. My daughter loves the cotton candy one.”
“A little hole in the wall with one of the best taco salads I have ever had. The restaurant is clean and well lit with a convenient location. All of our food was made perfectly to order and was very fresh and delicious. The salsa and chips she brought us while we waited was so fresh and the chips were made to order and served hot. We will definitely be coming back whenever we are in the area. My only regret is that we didn't have room for dessert!Parking: Easily accessible with the trailer and plenty of room to park.”
“I absolutely LOVE this little gem. Tucked away behind the Goodwill on 29. Homemade. Well worth the money. Very reasonable prices. If you leave hungry, you didn't order at all. Will always stop when I'm in the area. The waitress is amazing and very attentive.”
“My brothers and sisters have all enjoyed this restaurant since we were kids (now all adults) and it will FOREVER be a favorite of ours. Fantastic quality food, drink, and service.”
“Fantastic food, the Diablo shrimp were amazing. The young lady that was hostess, cashier and waitress was awesome!Wheelchair accessibility: Multiple wheelchair ramps built into the sidewalk”
“I ordered a delicious burger. It was perfect; probably the best burger I’ve ever eaten. The fries were on point and the service was wonderful. I would, and probably will, come back again.”
“We got an assortment of rolls and a side of edamame- we will definitely be back! The food was fresh and delicious- our favorite being the black dragon roll. We also got the rainbow roll and two California rolls- highly recommend!”
“This was my first time coming and oh boy it was a surprise! The inside is pretty dark so we were a bit intimated at firstThe owner working there is the sweetest! The food is amazing so rich of flavor and absolute authentic.I definitely recommend the Bibimbap :)I will definitely come again”
“Pleasant atmosphere and great food. Service was friendly. For picky eaters the menu might be limited but then again it's chicken, who doesn't like chicken!”
“I dropped by for lunch, and ordered takeout at the counter. They had my order ready in ten minutes or less and I was ready to roll again! Except the sandwich was so big I needed both hands for a bit!Wheelchair accessibility: Smooth entry into building with wife enough door to easily fit a large wheel chair.”
“Excellent authentic pizza. The owner was very friendly. We stopped between lunch and dinner when the dinning room was closed and he went above and beyond to accommodate us despite not having any waiter at the time.”
“I mainly go here for the drive thru coffee. I usually get an Americano and it’s not bad but not amazing. Reason being, it’s too hot. Like a lot of coffee places they use the hottest water. But it’s not bad for the price.”
“Great place to stop on a rainy Sunday driving home from Charlottesville. Good pizza, pleasant waitress. Place looks unremarkable, but not the sort of place where you expect "atmosphere".”
“My friend and I were heading out to dinner for catch up time and wanted to try somewhere new (to us). She remembered Fiorana, and we're so glad we tried it! Wonderful atmosphere, beginning with a friendly and effusive welcome from the owner Vinnie. Service was excellent, and the food was great. We tried lobster ravioli and chicken marsala then splurged with tiramisu and limoncello marscapone. All were delicious! Our waitress was attentive and helpful, and Vinnie stopped by to check on us as well. We spent a delightful couple of hours there and never felt rushed. When leaving, the restaurant had emptied, and we chatted with Vinnie once more. His outgoing and warm personality is contagious, and his hospitality and passion for not only his restaurant but serving others is very evident.Additional note: There is a great selection of reasonably priced entrees... also a wide variety of other items available including pizza and sandwiches.Definitely recommend, looking forward to a return visit! ”
