If the adage that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover is true, then the same applies to diners.

From the outside you might question what awaits inside, especially as its right across the street from a modern truck stop with a well-known fast food joint.

But its what's inside that counts. And the food selection here is not only voluminous but more importantly very, very good. From simple sandwiches & pizza to dinner plate suppers, this place won't disappoint.

I just love their chop steak dinner plate. It has two nice size pieces of meat astride a bed of brown rice with a huge medley of vegetables and their very own sauce to top it with. Also comes with a side salad with dressing. The price is very good as well.

I stop here twice a year on my long road trips staying at the Big Walker motel in nearby Bland VA and swinging by here for my supper.

If you want a snack or a real supper to fill you up, this is the best bet in this area of the mountains.

If you're a fan of a fantastic hole in the wall restaurant then you just stumbled across the Holy Grail. Stopped in for a gyro which came out hot, fresh, and delicious! Definitely going to have to try one of the Italian dishes on my return trip.

They charged me .51 for ketchup. 1.02 for mayo and 1.02 for the mustard.
Remember if it doesn't come on the burger they're going to charge you for it. Even the simple stuff

Overcharged big time for 3 hotdogs. Buns were burnt charged extra for ketchup only got ketchup and mustard on them. Charged for single LOADED hotdogs 😳then she said she didn’t have my change!!!! What a joke. They were not busy.

This Pit Stop is a must!!! Portions, selection, and taste are above expectations!!

Learned about this place from our son. The food was very good. Fresh salad. Got Calzones. I think they even make their Ranch and Caesar dressing homemade. The inside is old Diner style. The service was a little off. Once we got our food and drinks that was pretty much it. No refills on drinks. Dont think they ever came back to our table. Our son said that was not the case for him, so maybe just an off day. However, the price of the food was good. I would eat here again because the food is good. My husband got a glimpse of the kitchen from where he was setting, and he said it was clean. Small place with great food.

came traveling through on a tour bus with 50 people and they handled it like a champ. We took every seat in the house. The food was amazing, I had the stromboli, and the brunch burger, both was perfect. They got all the food out quickly and super hot. I greatly recommend Pit Stop Italian, and Good Time Tours greatly appreciated your inviting service!

This place is AMAZING!! Seated a bus full of 50 people, took our orders and had our food ready in a timely manner with a great attitude! Good was absolutely delicious! The whole bus was begging to change routes so we could come back and eat again on our way back! Outstanding service! 50 people recommend EVERYTHING on the menu!

Not a lot of people in there food is good. I went in right behind another couple sat there 20 minutes. Got absolutely nothing no acknowledgment. The waitress looked at me. Three times. Did not ask if I needed anything. Did not bring me a drink. I finally walked out after 20 minutes completely. Unacceptable. Very disappointing.

Steak sandwich was really on point and I’ve had plenty of them in Philly, however, I also ordered a large Margherita pizza. This has to be the most delicious, best pie I’ve had anywhere, and I’ve tried them all over Jersey & Long Island. Just incredibly delicious and enjoyable. Perfect crust, sauce, seasonings🍒
