Came by on a weekday for lunch and can generally say I had a good time. Service was very solid and the food was also decent. My grilled chicken sandwich came with a good sized piece of chicken on it, but the soup (I think it was a beef and broccoli soup) was rather lackluster and I would advise against getting it.

A great, small spot for classic American food. Nothing fancy. If you are looking for something that reminds you of your Midwest grandma's cooking, then I highly recommend Abby's.Kid-friendliness: A great kids' menu! This is my son's favorite restaurant because of it.
Some of us liked our meals and some of us thought it was boring. The nightly special is always good. Specifically, the French dip had no flavor. The pricing is fair.

We’ve tried this place maybe 3-4 times since moving here. I believe the reviews reflect mostly older regulars as the food might be comparable to a K&W Cafeteria My son and I stopped in to see if they had any fired chicken and give it another try since the other times we’ve tried eating here were not that great and tried to give them the benefit of the doubt that maybe they are short handed. But, it has never been poor service, but always poor food. I was told they only serve fried chicken on Sundays. So my son got the French dip…big mistake. Not sure what that was but it definitely isn’t fresh sliced daily meat that was described as a response to another complaint about it. They also said they sell 100’s of sandwiches daily. The seating availability states otherwise. I ordered the fried chicken salad. They brought out some type of sub with fries. We ordered the potato skins with no bacon. ? those tasted like sadness to me but I was so hungry I put a ton of salt on them and devoured them. I asked for the bill before they could bring out the correct order for me so I’m not able to comment on that order. Look at the picture, does that look like au jus sauce for French dip? ? don’t know what it was but it tasted like water and had some kind of sediment floating in it. Those are regular fries but their grease hasn’t been changed in so long they look like sweet potato fries.All I can say is that the defensive responses to the honest negative reviews speaks miles, so I’ll just kick back and wait for their defensive response to my review.
