Normally, I’m a fan of both Joe’s Inn and Joe’s Out in Bon Air — they’ve long been reliable neighborhood staples. However, my most recent visit to Joe’s Out left me genuinely disappointed.
I ordered a cheesesteak and explicitly requested no tomato and no mayo. What I received instead was a sandwich slathered with mayo and included tomato. While I understand mistakes happen, I returned the sandwich and asked for a corrected version, Driving back to Joe's from my home. Unfortunately, the replacement raised additional concerns. Compared to the original, the size disparity was almost comical — think Gilligan and the Skipper.
With Duke’s Mayo currently running it's Hot Tomato Summer, but customers should never have to double down to avoid unwanted ingredients, especially when requests are clear.
Out of curiosity and hunger, I went across the street to Jersey Mike’s and purchased a Regular Cheesesteak, the difference in quality and portion was clear. Photos included for comparison. An offer of a dessert item was accepted, I thank Joe's for that but by the time I was able to return back home, original order 5PM final home return 6:35, the appetizer ordered was cold.
Joe’s Out usually delivers solid food and service, but this experience missed the mark on accuracy, portion consistency, and recovery.
I hope this was an exception, not the new normal.

Terrible. VERY noisy, bad service, the "crab" bisque was something from a can. Big chunks of potatoes and tasted like canned CLAM chowder. The waitress couldn't get our drink order correct. Got a BOTTLE of Budweiser, not the draft pint for the same price, no iced tea arrived, never a "thank you" and left the check without a word. We went to the register to pay and were told we couldn't pay there. Didnt give a hoot about our bad experience. The only saving grace was the bartender. More Restaurants are needed in the BonAire area.

Joe’s Out is connected to Joe’s In. Due to my schedule and my time in Richmond to see my son and his family, I’m always heading to Joe’s Out to grab amazing food and of course their fabulous Ice Cream! 9 out of 10 times I’m greeted by Austin, the young man that always smiles and provides you with great conversation and service. I can honestly say that I have never had better food and service from an establishment that caters to those of us that want to get hot tasty take out than Joe’s Out! P.S. Their new Hot Chocolate ice cream is delicious 🤤

Food came luke warm. Wouldn't melt the butter on the pancakes or grits. Very unusual.
When you need them, they're there. Picked up a Joe's Out small Greek Pizza a week ago...Oh my God! It was so good...fresh, hot & tons of favor & toppings..quick & easy order, out the door I went to pick up....need a quick fix this is the place to go.

We ordered the Steak and Cheese Tortellini from catering menu for pick up on the 26th of December for after Christmas lunch with family. It was a hit!! So much food and the steak was cooked to perfection. The cheese tortellini was delicious.Service was awesome as well. Thanks to all who prepared and helped with getting it ready on time too! You guys rock!!

Absolutely the best! The service was speedy, on spot with each person's needs. The food was OUTSTANDING! The rest of the party all had spaghetti dinners and all praised them. The Chicken Liver Dinner was the surprise. Only My Mom cooked livers this good. Perfectly seasoned, fried crisp yet tender, a feat to be mastered. Well done!
