Passing through and stopped for breakfast. Never in my life have I experienced French toast that phenomenal. This place will forever be a mandatory stop for me if I come through this area again
While camping in the area, we stopped in for lunch. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. I had the BBQ sandwich with slaw and onion rings and Grumpy had the chicken salad on toasted rye with french fries. My sandwich was very good (I would have preferred pickles on my sandwich but the meat was delicious). The onion rings were exactly what I wanted! Crispy, light and so many!! I took half of my lunch home. Grumpy said the chicken salad was very good even if he likes chunkier...
North Star is one of the best places to eat outside of Roanoke. Not just the food is amazing and affordable. The taste brings you back to good old days of grandma‘s cooking. The restaurant has a small home town feeling where everybody knows each other.
