I admit - I wasn't expecting much when we had brunch scheduled here. The menu is pretty basic. It's situated in a beautiful clubhouse on this exclusive, private golf community resort. The building is an old-world wooden beams and large ceilings feel and the pro shop is very nice. (Rumor has it this is going to be converted into a finer dining restaurant since it's such a beautiful space). The Tavern overlooks the driving range and has windows all around and plenty of seating. It wasn't busy at 10am on a Sunday and we were able to choose our table. Our waitress was prompt and nice. I ordered some sides of breakfast sausage, biscuits and fruit to go with the oatmeal bar I chose since I was worried it wouldn't be very good.Actually, the oatmeal was delicious and they had fresh blueberries for toppings as well as sliced almonds, cranberries and brown sugar. It was yummy! All my sides were about $2-3 and each was a huge serving. Two biscuits, two pieces of sausage and a huge portion of fruit that would be $7 in VAB.My husband ordered a breakfast sandwich with eggs, protein and cheese with potatoes and a side of fruit. He was also happy with his portion size and food.Prices are wonderful and the food was very good - I would def. eat here again. Now, it's not fine dining and it def. isn't a bougie cute little coffee shop with loads of instagrammable options and cute lattes, but it got the job done for a fair price.

I admit I wasn't expecting much. The menu for breakfast is very small but it wasn't crowded and the service was good and the food was excellent. Now - to set expectations properly, this is not a bougie brunch spot with inventive lattes and instagrammable açaí bowls and other cute items. They have a simple, basic menu with breakfast fare. But the food was fresh and tasted good. And prices are unbelievably cheap for such a posh place selling $200 Peter Millar golf shirts across the hall. The ambiance and location is gorgeous. It's in the exclusive golf community of Bay Creek right beside historic Cape Charles and is nestled back past a 24/7 manned gated entry. The building is very pretty and harkens back to huge old wooden and brick barns of the 1890s. Reminds me of something you'd see at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, N.C. This spot has gorgeous windows all around and overlooks the driving range. Vibes are laid-back and restrooms and the Pro shop are located just outside the restaurant. Our server was a very sweet college gal who took excellent care of us and kept the coffee refills coming. The menu isn't large but it has all the basics to take care of business: eggs, omelettes, pancakes, oatmeal, build your own breakfast sandwiches, Benedicts and tons and tons of sides at very fair prices. My husband built his own breakfast sandwich which was ham, bacon, cheese and eggs on a soft warm brioche bun. He added a side of breakfast potatoes and fruit to his order. I chose the more adventurous route and did the oatmeal bar. This is a small bar off to the side of the real bar - a table with a warmed tray of oatmeal and some bowls with almond slivers, brown sugar, dried cranberries and fresh blueberries you can fix and top as you'd like. The oatmeal looked like no one had touched it since they opened, but I went ahead and tried it and it was steel-cut, perfectly cooked, and very fresh. I added a generous portion of blueberries and almonds with a small sprinkling of brown sugar and some honey and it was delicious! I chose to add sides of biscuits, fruit and sausage and all my sides were huge! I got two biscuits and two pieces of sausage for about $2 each as well as a huge bowl of mixed fruit. Very pleasantly surprised by the quality and prices and food here. Would absolutely dine again. Coffee was a bit weak - but that's not a huge issue. Everything else was great!

Service is wonderful. A bit noisy at times. Would prefer a full menu every day, not just Lite Fair. Members only.

Good, but quality comes and goes. When they are on point though - it’s great.

We decided to check out this place while staying in the Bay Creek neighborhood. It did not dissapoint. Service was fast and great. Food was delicious. One small negative is that the Cosmo had way too much vodka in it.

We have been going to this restaurant for 3 years. Solid breakfast, and service is good. Nothing spectacular, but not bad either.

If you like the server giving you attitude, swtiching your fish order with a different fish behind your back, this is the place for you! Slavered in deep old oil stuck in the fryers for weeks, this unkown delicacy is aged to you likeing! Itll sure make you cringe, but hey...its an acquired taste. Dont think you got the right order? The staff will take care of it. They'll striaght up LIE to you because they know whats best. Not a fish person? No problem! Get a burger, just know they always make it DEEP PINK RAW, even if you ask for it well done. Cant pick or decide which dish to get? Not to worry, here over 60 percent of the items on the menu are out of stock, they make the choices for you! For you fellow foreigners, bonus points if they tell you to go back to your country. (All of this was what I experienced with my family the one night we were over there as invited guests, very unprofessional. I wish no one to ever experiance such a catastrophe.)

Terrible experience. Would not recommend to anybody in this area. 0/10 experience. I highly recommend people NOT to go to this restaurant. Do not support rude and disrespectful workers! Beware!

Bryan S.

The owner was very racist. He could not handle the argument professionally and instead Told me to go back to my country. Terrible customer service.

Noor A.

Unacceptable behaviour from the owner, not only did they mess up in their service but they failed to recognize so, they instead got upset and said very disheartening words. Imagine telling people to go back to their country in our current day and time, embarrassing, ignorant and shameful behaviour
