Spacious and stylish with a laid-back vibe, the Salty Rooster features a cozy upstairs cigar room perfect for a few quiet drinks. we had the whiskey sour and berry smash, which were both on point. Warm, attentive service made for a relaxed night out. Will definitely return.

The restaurant without food! We were visiting Cape Charles in August and made reservations for dinner at Salty Rooster after reviewing their menu. Yes, the menu is small but had lot of good choices, we thought. After arriving in the restaurant, which was quite empty, we were greeted by a young man, and seated with the menus, and the same man came later to ask us for drinks order. We ordered drinks and in a while he came for food order. When we were starting to place our order, he told us that there are no oysters, no beef, no chicken. The only thing they had were salad wraps! On Saturday!!! During a busy season in the beginning of August! We finished and paid for our drinks (they were ok), and left hungry. Why hasn’t he told us right away that there is no food? The restaurant interior is beautiful and opulent, but with this kind of service they are not going to survive for long

My husband & I stopped in recently to the Salty Rooster and were impressed from the start. This upscale locale had mile high ceilings and sophisticated decor, with an inviting upstairs bar and cigar room... the perfect place to unwind with your libation of choice. Speaking of, our cocktails were top-notch-- well-balanced, interesting without being overdone, and thankfully not overloaded with sugar or gimmicks. Bottom line: Whether you’re meeting friends, sneaking in a low-key date night, or just need a comfortable place to decompress with a good drink, this spot delivers.

Steak and scallops 🤌🏻. Lots of area on second floor cigar bar. Roof top was closed for a wedding but I’m intrigued and will be back. What a gem CC has 🫶🏼

Absolutely the worst dining experience ever. First, the online reservation portal indicated that the restaurant was full. Yet, a quick call to the place got us in. (Very few diners when we arrived) The restaurant has a cool vibe, but wait staff seemed preoccupied and not very attentive. My husband ordered oysters which he said were good, but our entrees, chosen from a very limited menu, were mediocre at best. I ordered scallops…$28 for two small ones with a dollop of corn puree on the side. My husband’s beef tenderloin was tough and odd tasting. My wine, while good, had a fly in it. An expensive, very disappointing experience. Will never return.

Great service and great meal at Salty Rooster. Really love that Cape Charles added this new spot. The town was in need of another venue that was different than everything else that they currently have. Place was super busy and the vibe was great. Absolutely loved the rooftop lounge. And llI loved our server and our food and drinks were amazing. We had an opportunity to check out the Cigar lounge, which was also super fun. We will definitely be back!
I made a reservation for 6pm on a Friday night for my 24th anniversary with my wife. We were seated right away and everything was going ok. Took a little long to get our drinks and then also our steaks and they tasted “ok”. I would have nothing to complain about until right after we started eating at 6:38pm we were told by the wait staff “last call” on both drinks and food from the bar and kitchen. I’m not sure what was going on but we weren’t told that this would happen when we made reservations and there was no explanation. I don’t think paying $150+ for my anniversary dinner should have ended in just over 30 min of us getting there. Who has “last call” in the middle of dinner time on a Friday night!?!?
