Excellent food. Excellent atmosphere. And most importantly, Excellent service.

If I had a recommendation, I'd tell you to definitely have their fried rice at the end of the meal. It pairs nicely with everything left in the pan after the Gopchang.

Recently attended Gopchangs restaurant with my friends for a birthday. There were 14 of us. One of our friends is Muslim and does not eat food that is not Halal. He was kind and respectful and still attended the dinner. Gopchang demanded that he must pay for simply attending or else he will have to move to a different table and is not allowed to sit with the party.

Attempting to charge someone after they expressed they are not eating due to religious reasons is highly unacceptable behavior.

To add to that note. Hassling a party of 14 who chose to dine at your restaurant is extremely unprofessional behavior.

My friends and I remained calm, polite, and respectful. We ate our meals and moved on.

But none of that can excuse the behavior of Gopchangs staff.

I highly recommend you take your money elsewhere.

We got here and the staff just ignored us, even though people came right after us and they noticed that group and then proceeded to take that group to a table, the server just ignored us and took them to their table, then proceeded to go to his other tables and not anyone else bother to come greet us or talk to us, we stood next to the host stand for 5 mins just for them to simply ignore us, their food might be good or maybe people only go there cause it’s the only place open late but god great job at ignoring potential customers though

I used to love gopchang story cuz they have best goochang but not anymore after today’s visit. They only had 2 tables when 2-3 employees were working there, but NO service at all. They only dropped our food without even check on our table. We have to grill and cut our own gopchang when the guy worker was just sitting there and play his phone. The bill automatically gave 20-25% tip options but serious??? I still gave 15% cuz the girl was at least nice and say goodbye. They also use styrofoam box to pack hot food. Disappointed!! Will not return anymore.

We would come here every once in a while but it’s just not worth it anymore. A la carte portions are small and the sides lack in flavor. The last time we came was a few weeks ago and they were blasting Drake’s new album explicit version and we had a child with us. The music choice is not up to us so we didn’t say anything. When we got our bill we noticed it was much higher than expected. Turns out they had raised the menu prices without updating the menu or telling us. We ended up paying the full bill because there was no manager on duty to correct the prices and the server said it would come out of his paycheck (which I’m pretty sure is illegal in VA). We came back the next day and there was still no manager, but the head server was very kind and helped us to get a refund for the overcharge. It looks like their menu still hasn’t been updated so I hope they’re not continuing to overcharge people. There are many other KBBQs in the area so we will not be returning.

I enjoy the AYCE (All You Can Eat) menu here, especially the bulgogi and other beef options. The shrimp was also pretty good. My favorite items are always the corn cheese and the hot vegetable soup that comes with the meal.

The hot pot seemed a little overpriced to me. Overall, though, it’s a nice place to visit in the evening and has a good atmosphere.

The only thing I didn’t like was that some of the servers were dressed quite revealingly, which made me question whether it was appropriate for a professional service environment.

The good part was that the gopchang and makchang came out fully cooked, so there wasn’t a lot of grease splattering on the grill. It also felt cleaner and less smoky compared to places where you cook everything yourself.
Unfortunately, the overall experience was disappointing. The side dishes were pretty weak, and the dipping sauces didn’t add much flavor. Even simple salt and pepper on the table would have made the food more enjoyable.
Since the meat was already cooked and only reheated on the grill, the texture wasn’t great. The staff told us it was ready to eat, but the makchang was still cold inside. Overall, the texture and quality were not what I expected.
We ended up leaving before finishing the meal. Ironically, the $5 steamed egg was probably the best thing we ordered.

​⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic food and even better service!
We had an amazing dinner here. The Korean BBQ was perfectly seasoned, and the ingredients were so fresh.
​Our server, Angeline, truly went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and well taken care of throughout the entire meal. It’s rare to find such great food paired with such genuine hospitality. Highly recommend!

We were originally heading to the next store but saw this special. The food was excellent so was service. 20% tip was added to the check but for the hospitality we received it was well deserved.

Food was fine but we ordered mul naengmyeon and bibim naengmyeon and when we got the check it was more expensive than what it was on the menu???? Asked the server about it and they said the menu wasn’t updated but the manager wouldn’t do anything about the check. The menu was literally from a QR code on the table; it’s not like they had to reprint all the physical menus in the restaurant to update it. If I’m ordering something off a menu, I expect to pay the price on the menu. Did not appreciate being deceived.

We had a wonderful Mother’s Day dinner at Gopchang Story. The meat was delicious and much better than we expected. The portions were generous, and the salad was surprisingly fresh and tasty.

My husband and I really enjoyed cooking the food ourselves at the table. The service was excellent, and even though it was a little loud, we had a great time. We will definitely be back!
