Bang is located about a block from the Downtown Mall in an old house on two stories. We ate there two nights in a row. The first night we ate upstairs which we preferred because it was quiet and the tables are well spaced out. The second night we ate downstairs in a booth which was very noisy and a bit hectic. The servers are young and energetic which gives an exciting vibe to the restaurant. All the food and drink items we had were top notch: I had Tofu Pad See Ew both nights;...
Food was as good as ever, bourbon drink was not great (and their drinks used to all be amazing). Table outside was so wobbly that 1/2 a drink ended up on the table. Service was not great, always felt like we were bothering them, needed repeated requests and took soooo long to get the check. We did love that we could get a reservation (didn't used to be able to). Salmon Nori roll was a standout. Nearby parking lot was almost $10/hr! Grrr to Charlottesville...
My mother and I were in town for the long weekend and came here on a whim. The first night we came, we had Jaden as our server and he was fantastic, as was the food! We loved the food and our server so much, we came back a second night to try a few new dishes. We loved the fact they were tapas so we got a few dishes each night to share. We loved the gnocchi, the drunken noodles, chicken tikka masala, the duck dumplings, and the goat cheese dumplings the most! Highly recommend!...
