The staff in the front of house is poorly trained. Sat for 15min before anyone came with water. Extra place setting at our table were not cleared. The waiter was busy in bar and restaurant and therefore inattentive. Food arrived quickly. Plating was sloppy, and the food was average. No one cleared empty plates. Waiter never checked on drinks, and we had to ask another employee to bring our check. We chose the restaurant based on the proximity to an event. There are MUCH better restaurants in Charlottesville- Won't return-
Our waiter was attentive & personable. Brunch took over one hour! Not sure why the kitchen at a nice hotel is nit better managed. Lattes were too strong and not hot enough.
We had to wait 1 hour and 20 minutes to get our food! It was brunch really how long could it take to make scrambled eggs and pancakes. Our server was wonderful and so apologetic for the backed up kitchen . However we will most likely not come back again
Great food, service and ambiance are all the things you want in a restaurant for a pleasant night out. Birch & Bloom delivers on the expectation!
Winston our server was awesome. Customer service is a major differentiator and kindness goes long way.
From our host, to our waiter Dante" to the mgr and general manager, to the ambience, the kindness and professionalism was unparalleled ! And the food was off the charts. It is now my favorite restaurant in C'ville!
We were 10 minutes early - but they would not seat us - although the table was set and ready. So ok. But then they sat us and after a full 20 minutes we got up and asked someone to please bring us water at least. Many apologies were given and the gal took our order. Another 15 or so minutes and we had to ask for the coffee again. We finally got the coffee and asked for cream tha we eventually got up and got from the lobby coffee. No one ever brought the cream BTW. The food came pretty fast and was almost the right order - but wasnt right. Lots of apologies again and our waiter was making drinks and doing lots of other things but never brought the syrup for the pancakes sigh - even after saying she would. It was very loud as people were allowed to congrate around the tables to visit and were so loud we could not talk to each other. I called a friend that was schedule to come to this place later in the morning and they cancelled. I wont go back.
Menu left a lot to be desired. Seemed to try and push the envelope but sacrificed flavor to do so.
Beautiful place, we truly enjoyed the bar experience. Bar tenders were attentive, polite and fun. Although I asked for a table not in high traffic or noise (husbamd has hearing issues), we were placed right next to the server station, high traffic by servers and people passing through from backdoor. The food was very good, but dont get the ribeye for two. Was well prepared, but certainly not enough for two and nor worth the $$$. Server was nice, but we got our steak faster than the 40 minutes. Server never asked us if we wanted sides to go with the dinner. He was not very attentive. Steak came out too soon and we had to ask server about getting sides. Never brought us proper plates either. We ended up using the small app plate. They were also out of two of the desserts before 8:30 pm. We still had a nice evening and maybe would give it another go. Maybe.
A must dinner spot when you are in Charlottesville - great spicy spicy margarita! The Brussel Sprouts side was great and the rib appetizer was amazing!

This restaurant is outstanding. Beautiful interior, attentive and lively staff, fantastic entrees and cocktails, and an overall great experience. We will be returning!
First opportunity to experience the new location and my wife and I were celebrating our anniversary. Amazing food! Great service and bernice nice atmosphere.
Great ambience and excellent food. The serving staff is spread thin at times, but do their best to make up for it.
We celebrated my daughter's recent nuptials with dinner at Birch + Bloom this past Saturday.
I want to truly commend the Valet staff for making us feel welcomed. Everyone one of them showed exemplary customer service as we arrived and upon our departure.
We had a big party so we were seated in the private dining room, which was beautiful.
The host was very nice, as was our server, who showed our entire party her utmost patience.
Speaking only to my order: the French 75 and the St. Louis Ribs were good. The Crab Cake was cold, and only one side was browned. Being from the DMV, where we love a good crab cake, I was disappointed. The Steak Frites...well...the fries and horseradish salsa verde were good! The steak...not good at all. I also ordered the Fried Brussels Sprouts. I didn't like the lemon dressing at all. In my opinion, it ruined the dish. They had so much of it smothered on top of the Brussels Sprouts.😫 They would've been better without it.
Other orders: two of my daughter's ordered the Stringozzi Duck Ragú and they really liked it. My mother had the Chicken-Fried Monkfish. I tasted it and thought it was just ok, but needed some salt.
Many other things were ordered throughout the party, and the general consensus from everyone was that the food was just ok.
A return visit is questionable, just based on the food. If I were basing it on the staff, it would be an immediate yes!
