Horrible experience. I have long been a fan of Brazos at IX and decided to try the barracks location with a friend. We were seated, ordered chips and queso and a margarita. Our chips were brought shortly but 15 mins passed and no one returned for our order or to bring the margarita. We flagged a server and reminded them off the margarita and placed our food order. At least 20 mins later a waiter asked how our food was. To which we said we had still not received it. He said he'd check with the kitchen. Another 20 mins later they asked how our food was. We told them still no tacos! Finally they brought our tacos, which were cold and the tortilla hardened. They also left the bacon off that we had ordered. Of course no one ever inquired how our food was after we actually received it. We were then brought the bill and I couldn't even see an itemized receipt to see if we were charged for the bacon. Haven't had an experience this terrible at any restaurant. Disappointed in you, Brazos.

I'm a big fan of Brazos at IX. This was a different experience, with a "please wait to be seated" sign and wait-staff providing table service rather than ordering at the counter. Not bad, but different than what I was expecting. The food was still just as good, but it felt a little weird eating "street food" in a sit-down restaurant.Dietary restrictions: Corn tortillas are an option for all the soft tacos, so it's easy to make them gluten-free

Great prices for the freshness and quality of food and drinks. Love Brazos- friendly folks. Great option to have corn tortillas on any taco to stay gluten free.

If you’ve ever had good tacos, don’t even waste your time coming here. These are on par with college dorm room

The food is absolutely not something I’d ever pay for again. I’ve never had cubed carnitas before… everything was bland, jarred, and dry. I could’ve made better ‘tacos’ at home with the leftovers in my fridge.

First of all the staff was not dressed appropriately. We received our water and there was rice in it and no rice was served. The soft taco was hard and basically just filled with beans. Also there was a water spill and instead of cleaning it because they were not busy they decided it would be a good idea to lay a towel on it and place a wet floor sign on top. As the building started to fill they turned the music up so loud I could not hear my friend sitting next to me. Also the price is outrageous ($83) for some dry tacos, rice water, the service was awful and it took 30 minutes just to be able to get our food that was not even seasoned.

When we walked in we thought we were going to get some good tacos but, first our waitress was not dressed appropriately. Our food took forever to come out and when we received our food some of it was cold, there was rice in the water (none of us ordered anything with rice), the tacos were basically completely filled with beans and then the soft taco was in fact not soft it was stale. While we were eating our food one of the staff accidentally dropped a cup of water and instead of any of the staff cleaning up the water with ice they decided to take place a wet dirty rag in the floor on top of the pile of ice. But they did add caution sign so, that's how okay. This is not the first bad experience with this company. We previously went to one of there other locations and did not find the food appetizing. Our bill was 90 dollars and I don't find that our food was worth anywhere near 90. It was probably closer to 15 dollars.

My husband and I eat here probably once a week - it's convenient, quick, and well-priced. The only thing that kept us from going to Brazo's frequently for a while was the weird chips they had at the older location and when this one opened, BUT I'm happy to say they now have delicious, thin, crispy chips that seem homemade. So 100% get the chips and guac when you go - it's worth it!The only reason I took a star off for food is in hopes this reaches management - but the pollo rostizado was my favorite taco at the IX park location for YEARS, it was simple, predictable, and delicious. But they changed the chicken recently to shredded chicken with kind of an orange hue instead of small chicken chunks with cilantro and onions, and it honestly threw off the whole taco :( I would love if y'all would change my favorite taco back to it's former state! (That said, I've shifted at least temporarily to the Austin Morning taco - I mean, eggs, mashed potatoes and brisket IN A TACO?! Yes. Amazing.)Anywho, GREAT atmosphere, clean, bright, and the manager is super sweet; she remembers us and says hi personally every time we're there!

I still can't wrap my head around why folks flock to Brazo's. I've given several attempts with different menu items - appetizer samplers, many different tacos (especially breakfast tacos, my typical go-to), and the like, and always found myself quite disappointed. The food seems to lack seasoning, even a simple salt and pepper. Using the salsas provided does help, but it's quite difficult to recover from a total lack of seasoning. I recall even the queso not being up to par, with a strange gelatinous texture. The drinks though, are quite nice. Whether a good margarita or some of the NA options - I enjoy the watermelon juice - this is a good place for that. I want to like this place so much, the inside is spacious and clean, and the staff are fast and friendly. But the food is just below expectations. I really hope to see it turn around in the future.

Coming in from Texas, this is pretty true to home! Not much heat to it, but Virginia tastebuds are different. The brussel sprouts look like a local twist, but they were absolutely delicious. For tacos, I got the pollo rostizado, the woody, and the blackened shrimp tacos. Corn tortillas. The blackened shrimp was just solid, flavors were on-point and it tasted like home. The woody had a good balance of spices and flavor, really enjoyed it. The pollo rostizado felt like it was missing something, but I got the tacos without cilantro, so that may have been it. I dipped the edge of the taco into some honey-jefe sauce and that fixed it right up.For terminology, the avo verde is their house avocado sauce (pretty good), and the honey-jefe is a 50/50 mix of honey and a spicy house sauce. Really, really good, might take the honey jefe back home for my own cooking. Just delicious. Fair warning, it's got a bit of a kick, so if you're dipping stuff in it, start small. A little goes a long way.The tres leches dessert was quite good (stole some from Dad), and the Mexican chocolate creme bruleé was lovely, though maybe a bit too much dessert for me. If you get it, be careful of the top of the mug - the rim was still hot from when they'd torched it.Update, the creme bruleé was definitely too rich for me, had some short-term stomach trouble. That's what I get for eating a two-person dessert by myself, lol

Best thing I can say is, it was quick. Tacos were below average. Service was terrible. Brought my food and I asked for a napkin. Waitress walked by 3 times and never brought. Got up and had to go get myself. Kids running everywhere. Several sat at my table while I was eating. Weird. Torchys is way better....

We really enjoyed the food, but the service left a lot to be desired. We were seated (at a table where we were warned there was a large crack, so not to lean on it or we might get hurt, which...sure). There's a napkin dispenser on the table that reads, "Order and Pay by Phone" with a table number, so we assumed that we should "order and pay by phone." This was a mistake. The waitress reprimanded us for ordering already and made it really clear that she was upset at us. Repeatedly. She said they had table service and we should have waited, and now we would confuse them. She made us give her our drink orders rather than put them in the app, so we now had half our orders on the app and half in person. She never came back--other people brought our food and no one ever asked about refills/if our orders were correct, so we didn't actually get that table service. The food WAS awesome and came out really quickly. But when it came time to leave, we asked the hostess how we should pay for our drinks, since we'd already paid for the tacos on the app. We were treated to another lecture about how confusing it was that we ordered on the app. She also didn't really answer the question, so we were left pretty confused, too. It would have been totally fine if there had been mistakes or if it had taken longer because we used the app--it really does sound like a confusing system!!--but I went to dinner to have fun with my friends, not to be lectured for following the restaurant's own instructions. Pretty frustrating experience overall.
