Spent over $500 for 4 people.. I would expect top notch service for this price range. Seems we were forgotten multiple times. Took over a half hour between apps and entree (assuming our food was forgotten to be put in because all the tables around us that came in after us were on dessert when we were still waiting on entrees). Then the guy took over half of my mom’s $75 steak to the back to “box” and never brought it back. I’d go to ivy Inn or Duners over this place.Half the cost, way better service and you don’t have to be cat called by the homeless men at the bus station to get there.

What an amazing dining experience! The staff was so warm and friendly! The gentleman taking care of us did just that ! He hit each recommendation out of the ball park ! Our sincere compliments and gratitude to a more than an expert kitchen staff ! A feast for the senses !!! We will be back !!

Great dining experience. Very impressed with the flavor profiles of all the dishes and left very happy (and I have been told I am picky but I prefer refined palette). Steak tartar and tuna app were both lovely with interesting flavors. Portion sizes were great. My honey enjoyed the duck entree and the rockfish is a lovely summer dish with the pop of lemon in the sauce. Bread pudding and crème brûlée were nice endings. The cocktails were good but not at the level of the food and others that I've had in the area. Staff were attentive. Definitely will be back.

The food was excellent, particularly the mushroom appetizer special. The Gin Gimlet and wines were excellent. Our server was very attentive. The service from the bar was a little slow, otherwise everything was outstanding.

Four of us had different meals and all of us were wowed. The crab fettuccine and salmon appetizers were terrific. We shared salad and it was split in the kitchen to give each person a generous serving. How many times have you looked at your serving and thought -that's it? Not at C&O, the restaurant is out to please its patrons in every way

Order whatever you like, you can't go wrong. The food is impeccably prepared and sublimely presented and from someone who knows about such things, there is thought and concern in the search and procuring the ingredients.

This is such a cool place to eat in downtown Charlottesville. The menu changes fairly regularly, but everything is always delicious. Their homemade bread is amazing, especially with the salted butter. I ordered the duck confit with gnocchi this time and loved it. I wish there had been more of the gnocchi, but still happy I ordered it. The building is beautiful and rustic, it’s a great place for a special occasion (although they don’t offer a free dessert or anything like that, we asked). Friendly staff and very close to the water street parking garage. Be sure to make a reservation.
