We love the Bistro section on lower level. Bartender, Abraham, made a birthday celebration a wonderful time. He is so professional and friendly. The food was spectacular and service was great. We do come here on occasion and have always had a great experience.

My husband and I decided that for 2026 we would try something new as often as possible. My husband took it upon himself to plan an amazing night in downtown Charlottesville to celebrate our anniversary. We had an amazing dinner! Everything and everyone from the beginning to the end was simply amazing. The food was simply delicious! You must try the homemade ice cream to die for!

We had the pleasure of coming off the waitlist for a table at our desired time. Our stop in Charlottesville en route from Buffalo ( read white outs and tons of snow) to our winter home in Hilton Head SC was planned according to weather; and a chance review online we knew this was our top choice for a NYE early dinner. And it didn't disappoint, in fact it was enhanced when the waiter told us that Dover Sole was one of the evening specials and well prepared it is a rare find and a divine treat. That meal cemented our desire to shift our half point drive from Lexington VA to Charlottesville a drive we make four times a year. However, in the future we plan to make reservations well in advance so we have another wonderful dinner to look forward to after hours on the road. Well Done and a special gift on NYE.

Another wonderful early evening New Year's Eve dinner at the C&O. They prepared the filet of beef exquisitely and efficiently. Adequate wait time, not annoyingly slow. Xlent wine menu, including a Neal Rosenthal Sancerre. Mostly quiet except for one boisterous table for a 5:30 pm time slot. A minor inconvenience.

This was one of the most incredible meals we have had in a long time. We had the Oyster Chowder - amazing. It is “made to order” for each customer. The pan fried Virginia Trout — also amazing. We had dessert too, and the frozen custard was homemade. Truly an amazing experience!,

This is the best restaurant I have ever had. After living in NYC and LA, I would never have thought Charlottesville would give me my best dining experience yet. The homemade bread and salted butter with the crab cake are perfect starters. The Calabrian chili sauce has the perfect amount of kick. The duck confit and steak chinois were hands down the best dishes I’ve had in my life. The bread pudding is to die for! The service is impeccable. Bravo chef! Bravo staff! Bravo C&O! Must go!
