Great family owned restaurant. The cinnamon roll was large enough for 4 of us to share as an appetizer. Great value for the amount of food.

When I travel to visit my daughter in Charolettsville, every morning we have breakfast at Croby's, her favorit place and mine.Really delicious home cooked food that brings back memories of grandma's home cooking - yummy cinamin rolls, delicious biscuits, tasty grits. We ate at Croby's yesterday and today, and had the biscuit with egg and bacon. As always the biscuits are amazing. However, the egg was not as tasty both times - a little dry and lacked that delicious flavor. The server confirmed today that the way the egg is made was changed to make things faster in the kitchen - a scrambled egg (similar to Wawa) instead of the original folded egg. I can understand the need to be efficient in the kitchen, but I always say "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." If you've had the original, then you've had perfection. The biscuit sandwich went from excellent, fresh cooked to just okay. Please bring back the original biscuit sandwich, or at least give your customers the option to order either the original or the scrambled egg. We would be willing to wait the extra time and pay more for that delicious taste. As for the service and atmosphere; attentive, friendly and "feels like home".

Tried to go here for breakfast this morning but left within five minutes due to a very rude server.Let me start by saying I have worked food service and know how difficult the Sunday crowd can be and understand that it is overwhelming to work with the general public at times. With that being said, this simple misunderstanding could’ve been handled so much better. We walked into the restaurant and the sign at the door said “Please seat yourself”. No one greeted us or welcomed us. There was only one table open and it hadn’t been wiped off quite yet, but it was the only option so, we sat there. The server came up and said “THIS TABLE IS DIRTY”. She came back with a cloth and snapped “I NEED YALL TO SCOOCH AND MOVE OUT OF THE WAY SO I CAN WIPE THIS OFF”. Reading her attitude, we asked if we weren’t supposed to sit there and she said we weren’t. Confused, we asked, “why does the sign read ‘please seat yourself’”. She snapped back “yeah, not at a dirty table”. We said we didn’t want to be treated like that and would just leave. To top off this interaction she shouted, “why!? Just cause I said the table is dirty?!” at us as we walked into the parking lot. We did not know we were not supposed to sit there and would’ve happily moved or waited on a different table if we had known or had been told/ asked nicely to do so. We took our business elsewhere where we were treated with respect. Hope the food is better than the service here because YIKES!

My absolute favorite weekend breakfast spot in town. My husband and I visit almost every weekend. They seriously make THE best French toast…nothing fancy, just simple French toast that is perfectly seasoned and cooked. My husband is a huge fan of the biscuits and gravy, as well. Their omelets and biscuit sandwiches are also excellent. Can’t speak too much to their lunch and supper menus but I imagine they’re delicious. Being a family owned and operated business, we are always welcomed like we’re one of their own.

The food was fun and delicious! The jokes on the wall were hilarious. We really enjoyed this place for lunch.

My Nana found this place after visiting Goodwill, and we decided to give it a go. The atmosphere is very homey, and they have a chalkboard wall that displays some of the best jokes that people say. It's so cute and personal. I got a cinnamon roll, and she got the sandwich they're known for, the Croby. It came with a side of fries, and when I tried one, I ended up having to order some for myself. Absolutely delicious, the parmesean cheese and seasoning were awesome.Kid-friendliness: With the chalkboard wall, I saw a couple of kids getting to draw while they waited for food, and on some spots, there were picture frames around drawings that had previously been done.

What a great find! We were unexpectedly in the outskirts of Charlottesville and looking for a place to grab a meal. Really impressed at the quality of food from this place. Started off with a bread basket and pimento cheese stuff hush puppies (who knew that this would be so good!). The pasta with smoked meat was superb and the ‘BBQ Sundae’ was everything you’d expect from a good BBQ meal. Hopefully we will find ourselves back in this area again.

We went here for dinner. What a hidden jewel! I started with pork rinds. Order them with a sprinkling of Croby’s dry rub! Chef Mike makes them hot, crunchy and delicious. The BEST I ever had!!!! I followed this up with their Smokey. But I had pulled pork instead of chicken. What a first class dish! My wife had a Meat and 2. The pulled pork was delicious! But their corn bread was outstanding! I only wished we could have eaten okra fritters, collards, or one of their deserts! If you are anywhere in the area, this is a MUST! It really is 10 stars!

Rob and Shannon are the best caterers. Great especially for Hoo graduation events. Friendly and full of smiles. French toast, muffins, mimosas and roasted veggies were highlights.

Would never have found Crobey’s otherwise!? Service was friendly and efficient. Husband’s pulled pork ‘signature’ sandwich and sweet potato fries were wonderful, my ‘hot mess’ was the bomb. Beers were great too, though canned. Would eat here again if in the area!! Reassuring to feel it was NOT A CHAIN and FAR CHEAPER than the over-priced Tavern. Wish Crobey’s much success. $32 w/ 2 beers & tip…

I miss the old menu. The Brunswick Stew with cornbread is one of my favorites. The service from the server wasn't what I am used to for this restaurant. They have always been very friendly and wonderful for years!! I will just assume it was an off day because I have always received great service here. I love the hometown atmosphere and the food is Good! If you like sweet things try the Cinnamon Roll. It's big enough for two people.

First time ever and we loved it! We sat in a booth which my daughter loved since she could write with chalk on the wall. The staff were so friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious! I got the Dippin' Mac and it was fantastic! Will definitely be back.Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs, toys, and a chalk wall!Parking: Plenty of parking directly in front and all around as it shares the lot with Food Lion
