Gabriele Rausse Winery

The wines are very good and reasonably priced. They also bring bread with oil once you’re seated and the oil is so good that you’ll have to buy a bottle to take home!

Their tasting location is small, quaint and absolutely beautiful! Fresh bread and olive oil alongside your tasting flight, and vinyl only music made for such an incredible experience. Loved the 90s rock while we were there, it brought back lots of memories! Lots of places to sit, in gazebos, open air, a few standing spots inside. Get there early, it gets really busy. The wines we sampled were all worthy of a bottle to take home. We bought three, and recently paired the Tannat with home cooked paella. A perfect pairing. Medium light in body, jammy, with a slight quick sweetness and goes dry on the palate. We can't wait to go back when we visit again. 5 star service, wine and atmosphere in the woods.

This winery should be an absolute “must stop” on your trip through Virginia wine country. They produce some unique wines you probably won’t find anywhere else in Virginia. Go on Thursday if possible. You can taste their sparkling ones on that day only! They were the stars!! And for those who are still “young at heart” the music is on vinyl!

Wonderful boutique vinyard. The white and red flights were delightful. Service staff was very attentive and friendly.

Came to purchase a bottle of wine before heading out to meet some family friends. Very welcoming and helped me pick out a bottle with a couple suggestions they had given since I’m a bit new to wine. Will be coming back again!

Enjoyed a nice afternoon here. Took several bottles home with us. Learned a lot- Our server was extremely knowledgeable and happy to answer all of our questions. Even got to meet and visit with the father of Virginia wine!

My husband and I enjoyed our visit yesterday and were very pleased with all of the wines that we tasted. The fresh baguette and goat cheese were yummy. We had a very knowledgeable server that answered all of our wine nerd wannabe questions 😂 We especially enjoyed chatting with Gabriele he is a very sweet man and the history and stories he shared were an extra special treat.

The BEST winery in the Charlottesville area! A perfect combination of amazing wine with a small family vibe. Can’t recommend enough!

I've been a fan of Rausse wine for years, and this fall, when my fiancee and I decided to get married in Charlottesville, purchasing Rausse wine for our entire weekend was the best decision we could have made. Their unique approach to winemaking offers wine unlike most wine in the region - and the flight we purchased for our guests offered everyone something that would hit their palette just right. We had soo many compliments on our Rausse wine (and many of our guests had extra-particular wine taste). Thank you Rausse's!

This is a late review from a self guided tour of Cville adjacent wineries my wife and I visited in November.

They’re perfectly situated in a wooded area that’s not far from 29. As someone that favors the woods the ambience was great. All the outside tables have a great view. The architecture of their main building was also impressive.

Service was great overall and the best part was an older gentleman that came by to talk with us about wine and life. They’re definitely on the list going forward

The wine is delicious but sitting outside in nature is truly what makes the experience—and the delicious bread! A local fave, especially during the fall to see the leaves up close!

Love love loved this experience!!!! Such a nice lady helping us through our self guided tasting. Never felt unwelcomed even when a private tasting was starting. Very neat building, cool architecture, rustic seating and very clean. Nice family vibe and great wines too!
