I ordered Moo Shu pork. It came with five pancakes, hoisin sauce and rice. The five pancakes were raw dumpling wrappers. They were horrible. It’s a shame because the actual Moo Shu pork was absolutely delicious. The rice was rice. It was good. I love sticky rice. That for $13 I would’ve liked a couple of pancakes. Probably will never go back again.

We had never tried this restaurant before, and decided to have dinner there last night. The restaurant was small, which is to be expected, since they do mostly take out orders. It was also very clean, which is a big plus. The service was great & the food was ready rather quickly. We have tried several Chinese restaurants in Charlottesville (and other areas), Hong Kong Restaurant is definitely at the top of our list for the best! The food was absolutely delicious & the portions were substantial. We had plenty leftover for a couple of days. The prices were some of the cheaper ones we have seen around town. This will definitely be our go-to for Chinese in the future.

In Charlottesville for a Dr appt and went insearch of a good sit down Chinese restaurant. Most everything is carryout. Found this little gem and was not disappointed. They do mostly arryout but have a half dozen tables. The food was EXCELLENT and very reasonably priced. If you're in the Charlottesville area, I highly recommend.

WARNING TO THOSE WITH ALLERGIES!!!
We order and said “no peanuts”. When I ate the lo mein, I started having an allergic reaction. We called to figure out what was going on and after much deliberation with the chef, they told us there’s a peanut sauce on the noodles. THIS WAS NOT MENTIONED ANYWHERE ON THEIR MENU! (See the screenshot).

The woman on the phone tried to make it our fault even though we specified “no peanuts”. When we told her we wanted a refund, she put us on hold for 10 minutes. When your business almost kills someone, you should be the one offering a refund immediately.

If they don’t know simple practices for allergies, I wouldn’t be surprised with other basic restaurant standards they’re not adhering to. Don’t eat here.

Dietary restrictions: PEOPLE WITH ALLERGIES - DON’T EAT HERE! We asked for no peanuts and they gave us veggie lo mein with peanut sauce on it.

I’ve tried a lot of Chinese take out in Charlottesville and this is definitely the best for the price and for what I expect the food to taste like. It’s good!
