Vegetarian - The Udon Noodle and Bibimbap are on point. I'm sure the meat dishes are great, but with awesome tofu dishes, why eat meat? Also going to make a plug for the Kimchi Pancakes as an app.
The service is great. Price is very reasonable - especially considering the location.
Al' fresco dining or cozy booth/table area. You can't go wrong.
I do prefer the booth in the front window because it is the best of both worlds.

Amazing Korea restaurant! The sangria is out of this world! Make sure you order the arancini and pork belly plate. A must go if you’re in Charlottesville

Great food, service, and atmosphere all rolled into a cozy, almost hole-in-the-all restaurant in the heart of the downtown mall. The portions are deceptively large and the service is quick and friendly. Perfect place for a date night or a pre/post-show meal.

Amazing authentic Korean cuisine. Place is bigger than it looks. They have a party room in the back. Open kitchen. Great hospitality! Good was amazing! Highly recommend!!

They use cheap, watered down sauce instead of real Korean hot sauce. First Korean restaurant I went to that didn't serve any side dishes.

Took a group of 12 here for my birthday dinner and had a fantastic time! The atmosphere is great, and the food was delicious!!! A couple items in the orders got mixed up, but the staff was friendly and helped resolve it. Would definitely recommend!

MARU Downtown blew me away from the moment I stepped in—on a chaotic Saturday with a festival outside and a line stretching out the door, they kept everything **spotless**, **organized**, and remarkably **welcoming**. The staff was incredibly **quick**, **attentive**, and **respectful** under pressure, and the **owner** even made a friendly appearance to ensure every guest felt valued. Despite the packed house, our food arrived **piping hot** and fresh, so flavorful that it was worth waiting a moment for it to cool.
If you’re craving authentic Korean food in Charlottesville, you can’t miss **MARU Downtown** at **412 E Main St**. From sizzling **bibimbap** to the spicy chicken & cheese plate, every dish was delicious, and the overall atmosphere was cozy and energetic. Whether you’re new to Korean cuisine or already a fan, the staff will help you find something you’ll love. We left full, happy, and eager to come back—definitely a top pick for anyone looking for exceptional food and service in the heart of Cville!

I got the vegetable dumplings and the vegetable stir fry with tofu. I also added extra tofu to the stir fry. Both items were delicious and well-portioned.
The food was so good. We went late on Saturday night and it was easy to get a seat. Started with the pork fried dumplings then I had the dulsot bibimbap with spicy pork and my partner had the bbq chicken plate. The spicy pork was amazing and the experience of the bibimbap was so good but the bbq chicken plate was the winner by a small margin. Would also definitely get the dumplings again.
