Absolutely a “must go” on the Charlottesville downtown mall. This restaurant has incredible breakfast, lunch and obviously brunch. This locally owned restaurant has been around for 75 years and there’s a reason why. Their staff is warm and helpful (shoutout Kim) and we even got to meet two of the owners. I recommend the cinnamon bun, any of their eggs, their espresso martini and anything from their specials menu. Truly a local treasure.

The Nook is a charming, old-fashioned diner located in the heart of downtown. This cozy spot serves up classic American breakfast fare, including fluffy buttermilk pancakes and a variety of all-day breakfast choices, such as a veggie omelet with potatoes, onions, and peppers. The food is fresh, crisp, and generously portioned, ensuring a satisfying dining experience. The staff provides friendly service, and one server in particular, Faith, is noted for going above and beyond for customers, making them feel welcomed and cared for. While some reviews mention that the food may not be super notable or flavorful, the sweet tea is sweet, and items like the power bowl on the lunch menu are well-received. The overall vibe of The Nook, combined with its cute atmosphere and convenient location, makes it a highly recommended stop for those looking for a relaxed meal.
