Mas is an absolute gem! I have been visiting for years and have only ever had a great experience. Their space is clean and comfortable and their outdoor patio is one of my favorites in Charlottesville. The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and they add so much to the experience. If you're looking for delicious, fresh made, and interesting food this is a must try. Their menu is diverse in flavor, portion size, and dietary needs - it is a craft your own adventure...
Fair warning: this place is quite expensive if you are looking for a substantial meal - like $100 a person. They do small plates (tapas) and drinks.
The food is exceptionally good though. Every plate I had was delicious and memorable. Their wine-by-the-glass selection is only a handful of options, but every one is incredible. I stopped in yesterday for dinner and sat at the bar. The food was very good, but what really stood out was the professionalism of the bartender, Amanda, I believe her name was.
I asked for two drinks and told her to use her own creativity. Each one was different, and both were equally delicious. I have to say, Amanda may make the best cocktails in all the land! Her drinks alone are worth the visit.
