What an amazing place, beautiful vistas, incredible experience sipping fine wine, craft bears and honey mead on rocking chairs on the veranda watching the sun go down over the blue ridge mountains. Get here early to have the perfect experience. So very special, not to be missed. Beautiful historic building and incredible staff and a wonderful owner Shar. Two very happy kiwis, loving our first day in Virginia.
We visited Michie Tavern on a Saturday afternoon and we were seated immediately.
The Tavern begins with a buffet and then a server brings additional servings and dessert if you order it. After we were seated we set off to the buffet. It is in a relatively small are and has limited options. The food was hot, fresh and replaced regularly. Everything was delicious and the fried chicken was excellent. We enjoyed our meal but since we are not huge eaters, I'm not sure...

First time visiting here! I have seen this place prior when I drove past here. My husband and I finally stop by and BOY OH BOY! This is a must visit if you pass by. We ordered the chicken bites, fried okras, and fried dill pickles! The portions are very generous! The chicken dish is to die for! That’s what they are known for!
