This is one of my favorite go to spots in Charlottesville! I always get tonkatsu chicken with spicy green beans, Mac salad, side of sashimi, and a spam musubi. For $20 this lasts me two meals and it is soooo good. I appreciate the fresh ingredients and the number of quality veggie options. Truly some of the best sashimi in town!
Very fast service, straight forward authentic food, fresh and crunchy breaded pork <3 thank you guys! Also, my colleague is obssessed with your drinks and says some of them are only available online or in your shop so thought I'd plug that in here for her (I think it's some sort of tropical fruit juice)
Japanese/Hawaiian is an underrated combination, and I think Mochiko does a great job balancing the two cuisines. I enjoyed the Hawaiian side slightly more, but the tempura and rice were outstanding as well. Decent value for the area, caters to the customer base well (sells chicken and rice for the UVA gym bros), and all around a great option. Service is not outstanding, especially for pickup orders, but overall I would highly recommend.
