It's been awhile since I've visited the Moon Maidens booth at the farmers market, but I am happy I did before Thanksgiving! The pumpkin pie was phenomenal. Earthy, naturally sweet, warming - perfect. Plus you still feel like a million bucks after eating one of her pies. It's finally true that you can 'have your [pie], and eat it too?' Plus, Sydney is always pleasant and knows customer service. How can you go wrong??? I'll be back sooner rather than later this time.

Sydney did the baking for a recent party we had. We had over 130 attendees. Her baking was a smash. Everyone loved the bakery especially the salty, caramel brownie and the best day bar. People did not realize they were GF and made without sugar. HIghly recommend.

Tried at the farmers market. I had the cinnamon roll, not very cinnamony, more chocolate, but still really good!! Mom, who’s very much not vegan, had a donut and thought it was so good!

As a mostly vegan with a dairy allergy, I am super grateful to have Moon Maiden in Charlottesville. A bit pricy, but they have a wonderful selection and almost everything I've had had been very tasty. One or two items have just been OK, and a few are exceptional (I am a s***** for the chocolate chip cookies and the chocolate donuts). Plus everything is extremely beautiful.

Moon Maiden has some delicious treats! I haven't gotten to try the savory or the breads yet but I love her sweets! :PThere's not very much room inside though, only one table so expect to take whatever you get on the go. Owner and workers are very helpful & friendly. I love that there is a bakery where I don't have to worry about what's in it because I know that here I can eat everything! Being gluten/dairy free. I also really love how they make there stuff from complete scratch, so awesome.

Moon maidens caught my eye as soon as I saw that the food was entirely gluten free!! I will admit that as a college student, the baked goods are a bit pricey for my range, but I think that's to be expected for hand made baked goods with quality ingredients, and as someone with celiac, a $5 brownie can sometimes be worth not stressing. That being said it is a irregular treat for me, I'll usually just grab something every once in awhile at the farmers market. I know they also have some of their goodies at the juice laundry as well! I've had the bejeweled brownie, the apple turnover, cinnamon roll, blueberry muffin, and chocolate donut! The apple turnover was by far my favorite-- the apples were so flavorful! The blueberry muffin was probably the closest flavor and texture wise to what you'd expect From a "normal" baked good, as there's a bit of a tendency for lots of extra mix ins and various textures from being gluten free. Not necessarily worse just different! Worth checking out for anyone with dietary restrictions or someone who (gasp) wants to eat some treats without feeling like crap aftern

My soon to be wife is gluten free and really enjoys the tasty treats made here! I like them as well and can’t believe how good they taste! If your looking for gut friendly treats, this is the place for you. Thanks for saving the day Moon Maiden!

An extensive (and in this case exclusive) array of vegan/gluten free baked goods is hard to come by. Moon Maiden's does a great job. Whether you're vegan, gluten-free, or just appreciate baked goods that are both delicious and wholesome, this is a place to try! The pastries are especially good (galettes, scones, etc.), although everything we've tried has been pretty tasty. Also baking for the local farmer's markets.

Came here on a Saturday. I had a cousin come into town and asked me to take him back here. The place has a nice feel to it. I can see why they have so many great reviews.

When we discovered the gf sourdough our lives completely changed. So grateful that Charlottesville has a bakery like this! Her bread is a staple in our house now.

Cute little bakery with vegan pastries! My sister and I stopped in here to grab a snack for my niece while we were out shopping around. She ended up getting the banana muffin--we all tried it and it was so delicious. Tasted like a regular banana muffin! What more can you ask for? Would definitely come back to try the other pastries!

I don't live locally and was visiting out of state when I stopped into this delightful bakery. What a lovely surprise! I regret not taking the time before I completely devoured their baked goods to take a picture because their items really are beautiful. I had the savory veggie queso galette with tomato jam and my husband ordered a sweet scone. We both loved this shop so much that we had to stop in one final time before we left Charlottesville. The second time we split a chocolate raspberry bar. Everything we ate was to die for! While on the expensive side, these desserts are made with the highest quality ingredients and are hand made by local bakers (as I found out in speaking to the employee that helped me), that are paid a living wage. It's hard NOT to support a local business based off those ethos - but when the products are THAT good, it's kind of a no-brainer to patronize Moon Maiden's Delights!!!

This bakery is incredible! They have vegan, gluten free, nut free, allergy free baked goods that taste incredible! There's a small table for people to sit down, but only about maybe 4 to 6 people can sit there I think. I suggest people who go to the Grit, walk a little further in to the York Place and look for the Moon Maiden's Delights. You'll be really surprised. I had the muffin and it was delicious, tasty and it felt like a meal. They obviously think about only the healthiest and best ingredients. I really hope they'll be successful there! Amazing bakery, and all baked with Love
