No logical sequencing between courses. Last item to arrive was a pizza which came 40 minutes after the preceding dishes. When we asked our server she was kurt, unapologetic, and insisted “dishes come out as they’re ready, it’s shared plates.” She asked if we wanted dessert when we only had 8 minutes left at the table. She never offered more wine or cocktails after taking our initial order. All staff we interacted with seemed overwhelmed and abrasive. Just overall not good vibes

Great vegetarian options and shareable plates! They are uniquely their own thing. I would recommend going in a group of 3-4 so you can try more items!

Perfect place for cocktails and small plates.
Was so excited that I forgot to take pics before digging in! Sorry
Vegetarian options: Had the charred carrots and broccoli.
Parking: Can be a little hard to find, but not too bad.

Have been in C'ville for 13 years now and somehow hadn't eaten at this gem until yesterday. Wow, had we been missing out! Simple, eclectic decor with an active bar and fun people watching. Food is creative, beautifully presented and, most importantly, out-of-this-world delicious. The beets were easily the best I have ever had, and the tuna and fried chicken are also not to be missed. The staff are first rate ~ friendly, relaxed and knowledgeable. Special shout out to Karen the GM and to our server Will. You made it a spectacular meal and evening in general. We will be back as soon as our little feet will get us there!

A fun/hip/casual spot for dinner.
Everything was tasty, but I still felt like some could've been better.
We started off with the grilled oysters. They looked really good but didn't impressed us in taste at all. Then, to the pancake, it came out very soggy. I'm not sure if this is how it is normally served here. The charred carrots were good, and grilled trout was the vedette of the night. Fried chicken was a disappointment. S'more bread pudding was quite mediocre.
We were quite disappointed, but the trout dish really saved the night.

We had a wonderful ? dinner at Oakhart. Their Vegetarian options and vegetables are amazing, the carrots, the pancake, the trout and then their features dishes are amazing.
Their drinks were also excellent, particularly the daiquiris. Perfect night!

With this part of Virginia having very little places with good food and vibes. This place is an absolute gem. A must visit for folks who are coming from out of town.

While the chef was able to modify several dishes to accommodate a vegan and vegetarian diet, we were not “wowed” by any as most were without much flavor or substance. Our waitress was not friendly but very attentive. She forgot that one dish was made with egg as the main ingredient (the cabbage pancake) so I was served it, ate it, and instantly felt sick. That was unfortunate because we were very clear in the beginning that we were ordering off the allergen-guide menu… it seemed like an honest mistake and slip-up, but was certainly avoidable and could have been dangerous. The baby sweet potatoes and shaved salad were highlights of our meal.Overall, this was not for me. If you are looking for animal-centric foods or extensive drink options (alcohol), you may enjoy this.
