Fabulous meal, yummy drinks! table side guacamole was delicious!!!
We had a great experience on a Saturday night. I recommend the Carne Asada 😋 👌 Great flavor. They also had a magician for free entertainment. The drinks are picture worthy as well (and they taste good).
My wife and I had an amazing time here. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was warm and relaxing, and everything was perfect. A special thank you to Anita for her outstanding service—she was friendly, attentive, and made us feel truly welcome. We’ll definitely be back!

Mexico Viejo Grill is a top recommendation for anyone in the Charlottesville area. The food is consistently top tier, with giant bowls that are incredible and loaded with flavor. The queso is some of the best, and the birria tacos are delicious and very filling. The guacamole is so fresh. The service is always amazing, with servers constantly checking in without being overbearing. The manager, Aldo, always comes over and says hello, and the owner checks in on guests. The bartender is super prompt. The restaurant is very clean with a great atmosphere, featuring beautiful decor and multi-colored lights. It is family friendly, welcoming, and a great place to eat. Every visit is a 10/10 experience.
