Just tried Silk Thai for the 3rd time and have ordered silk calamari and they did not disappoint. The price for the portion is fair and the taste is excellent. A little iffy to try their other menus because of the price but I'll definitely give it a try next time.
Update: However, they could put less ice in the Thai iced coffee.
I have been getting the silk calamari here more often now, but I wish they would stay more consistent with the quality of the silk calamari.
This time, the silk calamari was not as much as last time and little bland. I could barely taste the salt.

My primary meal was chef's fried rice with chicken. Unfortunately, the rice was mushy...as if someone had mixed it too much with a spoon instead of fluffing it with a fork. Also, there were only 2 tomatoes (you can see them in the picture). So that ruined the dish for me, but the chicken in the dish was good. My older son had Massaman curry - comes with rice, and he got chicken. He said it was really good. The chicken was one whole piece, though (he thought it was going to be chopped up in the curry). My younger son had the chicken yellow curry, and like his brother, he really liked his dish too - gave it a 9.5 out of 10. Again, though, the chicken was a whole piece, not chopped up in the curry. My husband had chicken pad thai and said it was really good. So 3 out of 4 people enjoyed their meals. For appetizers, we shared chicken and shrimp dumplings, and shrimp rolls. While they looked beautiful and scrumptious, we didn't like the dumplings; didn't taste any shrimp. Kind of just tasted like mush inside dough (looks like dark minced mush in the picture), but we were expecting to actually be able to see chicken and shrimp inside the dumplings. On the other hand, while the shrimp rolls also weren't what we expected, they were good, especially dipped in the sauce that came with them. As you can see in the pictures, they're just wrapped in rice paper. We were expecting something that looked like an egg roll, but have shrimp and veggies inside. I would try this restaurant again, but get shrimp massaman curry instead!!!

The chef fried rice is nothing like before it’s so bland now. The waiters and waitress are kind of passive aggressive. Had sponge residue(?) in my rice. Monsoon and pineapple way better. This is not the same restaurant as before

The service was incredibly fast given we had such a large group! There were no mix ups and the staff was pleasant.
Went to have lunch, my son has a slice of pizza and they told us that we had to leave since we brought food. I ask why is it ok to have a customer with a cat in the restaurant but my sun with slice of pizza had to leave. I was told that it’s their policy. Deny service to costumer is ok it’s their rights, having a cat inside it’s not tot right since it’s not permitted in VA.
Finally reopened! Ordered the summer roll tofu. The homemade peanut sauce was amazing.
Pad see ew was great. Crispy duck noodle soup was flavorful (a little sour for me)
Neely renovated but a little cold in the restaurant.

Great service! Fabulous food. Thank you, Eddie Keomahathai, for your great legacy to Silk Thai restaurant
Great service! Delicious food! Generous portion! Dining area is a bit cramped but still comfortable. We ordered Silk Calamari, Silk Crispy Duck, and Pork Chili Salt. All were very good but our favorite was the Pork! Their Thai Iced Coffee and Tea are great too! Highly recommend!!
Delicious food and friendly service!
By far the best thai in the county, least as far as I know. It's a tremendous challenge to imagine a better curry, or thai ice tea.
A hot spot for students, the sheer amount of practice has refined the hard working staff, who's dedication to quality simply can not be overlooked.
Silk transcends student and townie divides, and ought to be thought of as a Charlotsville staple, akin to such former landmarks as Spudnuts and Little Johns. I hope the staff the best of fortunes and a long respected life in our town. Salutes and compliments all around.
(Just be careful in the tiny parking lot)
