Tavola was everything we hoped for and then some. Tucked into the charming Belmont neighborhood.
From the first bite, you can taste the difference: every dish is made in-house, from scratch, and it shows. The pasta was perfectly tender, the sauces rich and layered, and the flavors felt like they were crafted with real care.
Hands down, one of our top dining experiences in Charlottesville. Can’t wait to go back.
My husband and I just visited there for the first time and it was so good! Our bnb recommended it and it did not disappoint. After a hard week this was perfect!
My son is familiar with Tavola and suggested it while on a family vacation .
This was my husband's and mine first time trying Pasta Carbonara. This dish did not disapoint. Our waitress, Sophia was extremely helpful with wine and appetizer recommendations. Highly recommend.
Delicious. A little tricky to find parking on the weekend.
Mike's team is awesome! Everyone works together. Their menu is mostly Italian. I love their Bolognese. Their wine list is the best in Charlottesville. I recommend making reservations. The word is out. This is the best restaurant in Charlottesville.
An Italian restaurant with an intimate atmosphere, this was the perfect place for date night. The capesante ai ferri, which included sea scallops on a bed of beet-leek risotto, was unlike anything I’ve ever eaten. The texture and flavor of the risotto perfectly matched the scallops, and made a dish that is usually a little too fishy for me just right. The wahoo was cooked perfectly and the sauce, potatoes, and asparagus were a great compliment.
Authentic! Some of the best Italian we've had in America!
Bravo, regazzi!

We enjoyed our wedding anniversary dinner here. It could not have been better. The service was perfect. Nile was very efficient and friendly. We ordered the tasting menu and all courses were spot on delicious. We would definitely eat here again.

Please be aware that there is a Tavola in Greenville ,SC. I accidentally made a reservation not knowing there was another one and all the correspondence for confirmation just says Tavola. The manager was most unpleasant and charged me $160 for the mistake . I would understand a charge but I thought given the accidental nature of this he would be more forgiving . He was not. The restaurant was booming with business and I’m sure they could have recouped some of the loss. Tavola in Greenville , on the other hand , was most helpful even though it was the holidays . So be careful before you book. No mercy on management’s part . This has happened several times to other parties .

Quite disappointed with the food.
The swordfish and the carbonara were both dry and the bread / oil was flavorless.
The seating in the old store-front area was nice and the server was attentive (less so when he got too many tables). It was interesting to watch a little cooking in the open kitchen as we were leaving.
Unlikely we’ll visit again.

The food here was very delicious (we had the squash pasta special, the rabbit special, the Arrabbiata pasta, and the eggplant parmesan). The only slight downside were the cocktails which were drinkable but nothing special.

I cannot understand why anyone would think the food here is good, it actually is very poor. It is obvious that a starry eyed chef concocted these dishes with ingredients that do not blend together. For example weak olive oil over chocolate dessert, how ridiculous and stupid.
I ordered pasta with pork cheek, it quickly became obvious they had bought a very limited amount of cheek for the weekend and in a cost saving effort, and in my overpriced plate there was the smallest slivers of only 3 pieces of pork cheek, also the sauce was very poorly done with an acidic flavor. Anyone who actually likes the food here has little to none dining experience in well prepared food.
Another note of disgust was how they were wrapping loaf after loaf of bread in plastic wrap for future use. I feel sorry for those that will be disappointed with stale bread.

Absolutely outstanding dinner & ambience! Carbonara was perfectly prepared and the fruit de mer marvelous! (I don’t like dessert, but Chantilly cream bread pudding, with cardamom had a mouth watering crust, mmmnn! 5 star!) Cooperative servers were so attentive & waited on us as if we were Heads of State! A great experience.
