A great experience at this restaurant! The entrees are always fresh and flavorful. Ambience is pleasant and cosmopolitan.
A truly outstanding experience. Amazing place, very friendly and efficient staff, and of course the food was creative and delicious. We'll be back very soon !
Foodwise, Ten never disappoints. Seafood is always very fresh and well prepared. Waygu beef is tender and flavorful. Lobster is cooked to perfection. The aolis range from subtle to flavor bombs. For some time now, their soups have only included deceptively described dashi miso and udon - no need to change or expand: both have extremely complex and subtle broths. We have patronized Ten since they opened, and we recognize that they've remodeled and changed arrangements in response to client demands, but the acoustics have suffered. In our last visit, we were seated at one of the few tables that face the small (original) bar. Although the separation between the tables is nominally good, and the couple on one side was discreet, and the family on the other side was not overly loud, we felt bombarded by their conversations, all a function of the harsh acoustics of the room. The sound environment did not ruin our enjoyment of the food, but we would hesitate to host friends at Ten (as we've done in the past), since conversation would be challenging. Perhaps the management will think about some sound absorption in addition to the look of the dining area?
Ten out of Ten! Beautiful lighting and very modern atmosphere, friendly staff, and fresh sashimi and delicious rolls - that is a triple crown! Everyone working there were very friendly and caring; they even explained the ingredients and sashimi in detail with full knowledge! The green tea was also phenomenal! Even their pickled ginger was delicious!! Hoping to return when I am able to visit Charlottesville again and try their other dishes on the menu!!

This restaurant is top notch. The food was fresh and delicious and the presentation of each dish was beautiful. Our server was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and gave us time to enjoy each item and didn't hover over us like some servers tend to do. We were new to the sushi experience and his recommendations were perfect for us. We will definitely go again.
Excellent food and service. Asked the hostess to switch our table, which she did with a smile. So appreciated!
My favorite restaurant to go to when I come back into town as an alum. Service is always excellent and food + drinks never disappoint. My favorite is the cocktail with lychee and the wagyu sushi, but everything is pretty damn good.
The service was excellent and the lobster tempura as the best I've ever had. Seafood was so fresh and delicious. I also loved my pomegranate cocktail!!
Our experience was great. The waitress was knowledgeable and friendly but also allowed us space to enjoy our evening. The food was delicious with so much variety. Everything was extremely fresh. Great experience.
Great experience! Everything was delicious and plated beautifully. Service was great - they even sent over a complimentary dessert for a birthday at the table. Excited to go back!

Ten is one of our favorite restaurants. My son and I went two weeks ago to Ten and, after eating at some other superb restaurants in Cville, my son requested we go to Ten with his family to celebrate his birthday. It was even better the second time because we had four adults and could order more items. Every item was excellent!!
This has the best sushi in Charlottesville, the best atmosphere, and the most responsive staff--and long term staff whom have been with the restaurant for years. My favorite place and they also have my favorite Japanese beer--Orion from Okinawa. Try the wasabi beef roll and the rainbow roll. Always a five star experience.
Great experience as always good. The sashimi was amazing .the staff was mindful and very knowledgeable
Server was very knowledgeable and helpful but everything including our sake took a very long time to come to our table. Sushi pieces were excellent as was edamame and tempura rock shrimp appetizer. Surprisingly the Maki Rolls were not great and I'd skip those and just get appetizers and sushi pieces next time and sit at the bar versus a table for better timed service.
Superb dinner. My only complaint — and it's both significant & valid — was that we were seated at the end booth in the light section. Perfect spot & it had a chair & booth seating. My place was on the booth end & the engineering/design of the booth is HORRIBLE. There's a seam right where you sit which should not be problematic, however, the quality of the custom booth seating is so bad that it felt like I was seated on two 2x4s that were up on their short edge. I ended up sliding down the table into another diners space. Quite awkward. When we went to leave, another diner in our party slid out of the booth over that spot & said “OMG!!!! This is terrible!” I get it — it's a custom booth that runs the length of the wall. Fixing it would be costly. But honestly, there's no way around it because there aren't a lot of options! (1) pay to fix it so that it's a proper, comfortable seat (2) only use the space as a 2-top & Miss out maximizing seating, or (3) try ignoring it and run the risk of someone noting it on social media (bad idea). Just do the right thing & fix it.
