Server was very knowledgeable and helpful but everything including our sake took a very long time to come to our table. Sushi pieces were excellent as was edamame and tempura rock shrimp appetizer. Surprisingly the Maki Rolls were not great and I'd skip those and just get appetizers and sushi pieces next time and sit at the bar versus a table for better timed service.

Superb dinner. My only complaint — and it's both significant & valid — was that we were seated at the end booth in the light section. Perfect spot & it had a chair & booth seating. My place was on the booth end & the engineering/design of the booth is HORRIBLE. There's a seam right where you sit which should not be problematic, however, the quality of the custom booth seating is so bad that it felt like I was seated on two 2x4s that were up on their short edge. I ended up sliding down the table into another diners space. Quite awkward. When we went to leave, another diner in our party slid out of the booth over that spot & said “OMG!!!! This is terrible!” I get it — it's a custom booth that runs the length of the wall. Fixing it would be costly. But honestly, there's no way around it because there aren't a lot of options! (1) pay to fix it so that it's a proper, comfortable seat (2) only use the space as a 2-top & Miss out maximizing seating, or (3) try ignoring it and run the risk of someone noting it on social media (bad idea). Just do the right thing & fix it.

They unfortunately had a bad night. We checked in and immediately it seemed they messed something up with our table and so we were sat in the back corner near the bathroom. I'd avoid this table if you ever get assigned to it, wait the extra time. We waited 25 min before we were even given water. Gave them grace, put our drinks and food in right away and sat for another extended period before the drinks and eventually food came. We ordered our main course which included sushi but we were never brought any soy sauce, so we had to wait to eat the sushi until the waiter could get back to us, which took awhile and our wagyu became cold. I had an excellent first visit to this place but going to be taking a break from there after this last visit. I know every spot can have an off night by being busy, but this was a tough one to sit through.

My wife and I love Ten. We always get the best service, but tonight was different. My wife has some pretty severe allergies. We mentioned this briefly to the host, who immediately got his manager to come over and help us out. The manager pointed out everything that was safe on the menu and even offered modifications to ensure everything was good. The staff tonight was exceptionally helpful. I can’t wait to dine there again.

Our waiters were phenomenal. They were attentive, knowledgeable, quick, and collaborative with each other to ensure all guests were being attended. We got a mixture of sushi, sashimi, rolls , and appetizers all of which were delicious. They even had fresh Uni , which is always a treat.

Great experience once again at Ten. It's a hopping place, even on a Tuesday night near 9 pm. The vibe is energetic but not loud and the food and service are fantastic. Ten is truly a top-level dining experience for Charlottesville!

Ten is a very wonderful, yet pricey place to eat. But when you're there, it doesn't matter because the food is amazing and the staff are absolutely fantastic. Would recommend to anyone looking for fresh, good quality food.
Wyatt was absolutely AWESOME! Very attentive and knew exactly how to communicate with Deaf even though it wasn't with ASL. Food was out of this world delicious! Everything was fresh and the flavors will dance in your mouth. A++

Took my brand new fiance here, it was really nice to try quality Japanese cuisine and the waiter was super nice and helpful even though we didn't know much about the food. Not someplace I'd come frequently due to the price but definitely worth it for the special occasion.
I'd recommend the Sparkling Ten, assorted sushi, and anything the waiter recommends.

Great find! Upstairs on the downtown mall. Lovely atmosphere if a bit loud. Also quite dark so we had to use our phones to see the menu! Good guidance by our waitperson —the blue crab roll was terrific! Good gyoza—really crispy but a little salty. The sushi is outstanding —sake and hamachi in particular. We will be back!
