Thai 99 II is the best Thai restaurant in Charlottesville. We have been a customer since they opened in 1999. We have never been disappointed in anything that we have ordered as take-out or ate at the restaurant. They are totally authentic as we know since our son lived in Thailand for over a year, and ate at many restaurants when we visited him. Thai 99 even has Singha beer which is an absolute must with the spicy Thai food.

Food was actually pretty good overall and the place itself looks really nice — clean, well-decorated, and a good vibe for a night out. No complaints there.

But dessert was kind of a letdown. We ordered cheesecake (yeah, maybe not the most “Thai restaurant” thing to order, but if it’s on the menu, you expect it to be decent). What came out was completely frozen solid. Like, couldn’t even get a fork into it.

I moved away a few years ago and where I live now the Thai food does not even come close. I look forward to eating here whenever I visit, I talk to my friends about how much I miss this food, and when I'm here I visit several times. The service is great, the food is my favorite. 10/10 highly recommend.
